Perhaps Saskatchewan's Education Minister should spend more time listening and less time speaking.

Many residents are expressing concern about the expansion of irrigation out of Duncairn Dam but there has been radio silence from the government despite drought conditions in Southern Alberta. A government should be accountable to its citizens, not just corporate interests.

The Sask Party has officially lost the plot.

Right on the heels of Convention, we had a great 2023 AGM last night, which included learning about the Swift Current Community Fridge Initiative and a platform development activity ran by Owen Sebastian.

We're especially excited about the number of new party members in recent months, including numerous who have agreed to join our executive!

Thank you to all that attended, and we hope to be in touch with members about renewal for 2024 before the end of the year!

There was huge energy, and a huge Southwest Saskatchewan contingent at this year's convention. The Saskatchewan New Democratic Party is ready to deliver!

It was great to have Vicki Mowat join us at our AGM this year. As health critic, she provided plenty of examples, many local, of the strain, understaffing, or plain old mismanagement of our healthcare system. We can do better.

Dr. Hassan Masri was a constant source of knowledge and insight throughout the pandemic, but now announced he is leaving the province, much like Swift Current's Dr. Wasko. His reasons point directly to Scott Moe and the Sask Party. How many more physicians are we willing to lose?

The party line is all we can expect from our representative. Why won't he listen to experts and act to protect the vulnerable?

We would like to honour the legacy of Allan Oliver, former MLA for Shaunavon, and stalwart member of the local NDP community since moving to Swift Current. Our thoughts are with his wife, Gerry, and family. His contributions to the cooperative legacy of our province will not be forgotten.
