I make filled European doughnuts using my Great Grandmother's doughnut recipe.

I add my own twist to the fillings, all my flavours are inspired by my long standing love for pie. The Zold House of Pastry is a bakery the provides central Alberta's farmer's markets with an assortment of home made pastries. The Zold House is most commonly known for their speciality tarts ranging in flavours every week. See the bellow list of tart flavours:

From Iron Ring to Doughnut Rings 👀😅🥳

Guys, I did something that feels a bit crazy this week! I traded in my engineering job to fully embrace my new title, DOUGHNUT LADY! 😎

What a wild ride it’s been since starting my doughnut adventures in March of this year. I can hardly wait to see where this goes in the coming months and year!

Okay doughnut friends… I’ve made a new discovery!

Those of you that have been following my doughnut adventures since the beginning know how much I LOVE these gold boxes. The struggle has been the second they go into the fridge I’m fighting condensation and melting the sugar on the outside of the doughnuts. I tried air relief holes in the top and parchment paper in the bottom NOTHING has worked.

Well, this last market in an attempt to have dipped doughnuts like my Boston cream I had to use sugarcane clamshells so I could lay the doughnuts down. Ugly as they may be the material and design allowed the doughnut to breathe and not condensate in the fridge! In fact I just opened one up today and the sugar is still grainy and the dough fresh!! 🤩

Needless to say I can never serve another doughnut in the gold boxes. Quality is so much more important to me than a pretty box. I’m working with some suppliers to see if I can get custom sugarcane material boxes made, that are both functional and pretty. In the meantime I’m going to see what size clamshells I can work with. They aren’t as tall as my boxes which causes some issues with my tall pretty topping… but I’ll sort it out for the next weeks until we have something custom!

Can’t wait for this coming Friday, the weather is supposed to beautiful all week!! ☀️

Hi doughnut friends! We decided to take this coming Friday, June 21st, off to spend some time with our family visiting from out of town. ♥️
