Today was a fun day.
Mohamed and Patsy dropped in to pick up their winning cheque for June's draw worth $114,045!

The Foundation team was out in full force to congratulate this great couple who filled in some of the blanks about what happens after we ended up connecting. Here are the Coles notes:

Mohamed working in Nunavut with terrible cell service.
We try calling him 8 times.
He finally is able to check his numbers against our email and finds out he is the grand prize winner. He is very loud at his workspace so the rest of his colleagues are part of the celebration.
He calls Patsy who obviously thinks he is playing a joke.
He ends up sending us a direct message at 7pm declaring himself the winner. "OMG OMG, I WON I WON!"
We get his info and confirm he is the winner!
Mohamed cancels the week he booked for overtime two days after getting it so that he can come home and receive his cheque!
They show up at Hospital today!
End of a great story!
"If we can win, anyone can!"

An MRI uses a large magnet, radio waves and a computer to produce detailed images of the body.

The MRI head coil acts as the “antenna” to receive radio frequency signals from the body then transmit that data to a computer and generate images. An MRI of the brain can be used to diagnose, evaluate and monitor several different medical conditions that affect the brain. The head coil is a key component of an MRI machine that helps aid in the care of patients.

Congratulations goes out to June’s winner of $114,045 – Mohamed El Boury of South Porcupine!

We tried to call Mohamed about 8 times after 11am on Friday.
We eventually left him a message to call us back because we had some good news – he never did.
It turns out he was working up in Nunavut with very poor or no cell service. He eventually saw the email that we send out to all players with the winning ticket numbers and checked his $40 purchase.
The numbers in fact matched!!!
He said he double checked those numbers quite a few times to make sure, then we received a direct message to our page. (picture attached, it's hilarious!)

You can say that Mohamed was a tad excited!
He is a paramedic by trade and understands the healthcare system and the fact that the Hospital Foundation funds much needed medical equipment with this draw!
He mentioned needing TADH at times personally in the past and is happy that this is a way he can give back.

His plans with his windfall include helping to pay for his upcoming wedding to his girlfriend Patsy and pay for his OSAP. He said this will change so much for them in the way of finances!
