Happy New Year! Timmins Underwater Rugby has resumed rugby practices/games and will be starting tonight at 8pm.

Our local athlete Gervais is currently training in Bogotá Colombia with the .uwr and .uwr clubs. Keep up the great work and bring back some knowledge to Canada. Come train with us every Wednesday and Sunday at 8pm. See you at the bottom!

Thank you Newark for hosting the most recent Team Canada/ Team USA UWR clinic this past November 20th-21st. Shoutout to the teams who took part including the New Jersey Hammerheads, Newark, preselection Team USA, and preselection Team Canada. Congratulations to our local athletes who are taking part in the national UWR Team Canada preselection process.

Alex, a local Timmins underwater rugby athlete is traveling to Newark today for an underwater rugby clinic/tournament hosted this weekend with the men's Team Canada pre-selection athletes. After this weekend, he will be going to Bogota, Colombia for 2 weeks to train with the Castores! Good luck and have fun!!!
Wednesday's for rugby.🤽♀️ Today's Wednesday's practice will be our last Wednesday's practice until the new year. We will be playing underwater rugby on the following Sunday's: November 20, November 27, December 4, December 11, and December 18.
The corner is one of the safest areas in the UWR playing field. Keeping possession of the ball in the bottom corner of the pool allows a player to see the entire pool while also being protected from being attacked from behind. A team can use the corner to control the play while tiring out the opposing players. Come join us this Wednesday November 9th at 8pm for our next UWR game. We play every Wednesday and Sunday.
Last night's practice consisted of scoring techniques! The video demonstrates one of the most common ways to score on a goalie. The forward uses the ball and pushes at the bottom of the pool to remove the goalie from the net. During a penalty shot, you are allotted 45 seconds for the forward to try and score, and the goalie to defend the net.
We hold practice Wednesdays and Sundays from 8-915pm! Come join us this Wednesday to test your endurance.

What a great time with the preselection Canadian and USA teams in last weekends Montreal underwater rugby clinic. Shoutout to our local athletes Bernard and Alex Gervais for representing Timmins in this clinic!

Congratulations to the Northern Seals player Gervais for taking place in this weekends UWR men’s Team Canada preselection clinic in Toronto Ontario. Underwater rugby is back!! Fall practices will resume this Sunday (September 18th) from 8-915pm. First practice is free then practices will be $5 onwards. We hope to see you there.
