My go-to pasta recipe, especially since it doesn't require cooking the sauce. So creamy and easy to make!

Creamy avocado pasta. All you need is four ingredients and no cooking involved for the sauce! Ingredients 1. Pasta 2. Basil 3. Garlic 4. Avocado (just one) 5. Honey 6. Salt 7. Chili flakes and raisins are optional Method 1. Boil water separately to cook your pasta. 2. While you wait for the water to boil, let's make the sauce. 3. Blend the avocado, garlic and basil together until it forms a paste texture. 4. Taste it and add the honey and salt according to your liking. Then set it aside. 5. Once the water is boiled, add salt and black pepper. 6. Add in the pasta and cook until al dente. 7. Remove pasta and drain it with a strainer. Then mix the pasta with the avocado sauce and your dish is done 8. I added chili flakes and raisins (but this is optional). 4 years ago, if you ask me to spend RM30 on a can of beer, I'll prolly think you're insane. But I have learnt to appreciate craft beers and it doesn't help that your friends in Canada enjoy having a good drink and most importantly they teach me to appreciate and understand the different flavors.

RM32/CAD10 per can. ABV: 5.8%. All you need is two cans for the night. 😜 This Hazy IPA is from @beerfarm ,Australia and personally for me I love the fruity notes and the beer itself has a really nice fragrance to it. You can taste the slight bitterness, but it isn't overwhelming or overpowering. I was skeptical at first, do I really want to buy a RM30 beer? One of the best decisions I made that night, but I definitely wouldn't drink more than two cans. 😜😂 When I left for Canada about 4 years ago, Malaysia wasn't known for craft beers . I learnt more about craft beers when I was in Toronto, but coming back home and now seeing and tasting all the options, I'm glad it's slowly growing here. Belacan chicken wings for impromptu bbq this weekend.

Chicken wings recipe I used shrimp paste/belacan (for BBQ I usually use the bottled shrimp paste vs our Malaysian belacan. The bottled shrimp paste is easily available in the Asian supermarkets and I think even No Frills has it!) Tons of Thai bird's eye chilli (you can reduce the amount of chilli depending on your spice tolerance), abit of brown sugar, fish sauce and oyster sauce . Note: I didn't add salt because the belacan paste and fish sauce has enough salt to my preference, but you can add a little if you'd like. And your chicken wings are ready to be grilled! This was sooooooooooooooooooooo good- juicy, spicy and flavourful! If you knew me years ago, you can safely place a bet that I would avoid any sort of bright colours if I had a choice. My go to colour used to be always black, white and pastel. My sister on the other hand loves bright colours, statement and loud pieces, and little by little she used to talk me into changing my style and give it a go. I am glad I did. I am definitely more confident now wearing bright and "out there" kinda outfits- thanks to Lil' Don. To be honest, I dedicate my style/fashion interest to my sister. Miss you Claudine. Nat's simple way of making sothi (really simple and so good!) Ingredients - 1 Tbp mustard seed - 1 Tbp fennel seed - 1 Tbp cumin seed - 1 Tbp fenugreek seed - Turmeric powder - Dry chilies - Curry leaves - Onion - Garlic - Tomatoes - Okra - Green chilies - Coconut milk Method 1.Heat 2 Tbp of oil, then add the mustard, fennel, fenugreek and cumin seed. When you see your spices sorta popping, then add in the other ingredients-, garlic, dry chilies and onion. 2. Mix well for a few minutes and once you get a nice fragrance, add the tomatoes & curry leaves and about a teaspoon of turmeric powder and some salt. Salt usually helps cook your tomatoes faster. Combine all the ingredients well, and give it a good mix. 3. Then add the okra and green chilli, and saute it with all the ingredients for about 2-3 mins. 4. Finally, add coconut milk, and your dish is done. I recommend tasting your sothi to check the salt and you can add as needed. @somtumjinda is definitely in my top 5 favorite Thai restaurants in Toronto. The dishes were flavourful and tasty. We couldn't stop raving about the food and definitely plan to go back again to try the other dishes. I would highly recommend making a reservation because it's a small restaurant but hey, where the food is good, it's always going to be worth the wait! Ice kacang/ shaved ice is one of my favorite Malaysian desserts. I am missing a key ingredient though- cendol. I didn't have time to make it, so for now it will have to do without it. Next round, I will make sure I prepare the cendol! I used rose syrup (bought from Malaysia but I was told you can find it in Sri Lankan groceries shops), palm sugar syrup (made my own) and condense milk. (Personally prefer condense milk vs evaporated milk for my ice kacang) The best part about making your very own ice kacang is that you can customize it to your liking- I love the corns so I added allllloooooooootttttttt! When I saw @twinfinrum coconut and lychee rum at @lcbo , there was no way I could walk past without getting it. One of the best decisions I have made last week. I made a very simple cocktail but I cannot emphasise how refreshing it is and both my husband and I love how strong the lychee and coconut notes were! We couldn't stop making more to have. Solitude. I find solitude in dining alone. Shutting the chaos in my head, recuperating from the exhaustion of trying, and just in peace with things around and in you - just for that moment. Just you and food. Absolutely blank thoughts. When the food arrives, that first bite (if its good) , just makes you grin so wide, like falling in love for the first time. Your soul becomes all warm and fuzzy. Life at that moment is complete. That's what enjoying my own company and food does to me. It's my "me time." Of course it's a different type of joy when you're dining with others, but for me, dining alone makes me happy and rested. On a separate note, I enjoyed the steamed hot & spicy meat dumpling from thoroughly. I am biased towards dishes that are spicy, but this just had the right notes. The flavors were intense and I couldn't have enough of the broth. I forgot when was the last time a dumpling made me this happy. I packed one back home as well. Felt lighter and like a girl that just fell in love again.
