It’s Su***de Prevention Month, but the truth is, prevention is something we need to prioritize every single day. If you or someone you know is feeling suicidal, remember that there are steps you can take right now that may help.

When those feelings arise, it can feel all-consuming, like there’s no other way out. The pain feels intense, and it might seem like nothing will make it go away. But these feelings, as heavy as they are, can shift. There are things you can do right in this moment, even if they seem small or hard to believe.

Remind yourself that these feelings, as powerful as they are, are temporary, and there is help available.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE. ✨

If you are in crisis, please contact a
24/7 Crisis Line at 9-1-1 (Canada).

Intergenerational trauma can silently shape our lives, passed down through unspoken pain and patterns.

By exploring our family history, recognizing these patterns, and seeking professional support, we can break the cycle and create a legacy of healing.

Understanding the impact of trauma across generations is the first step towards a healing! ✨

Navigating the first few weeks of college can be both exciting and overwhelming. But did you know this time is also known as the β€˜Red Zone,’ when students are at higher risk for s*xual violence?

Awareness is the first step toward prevention. Empower yourself by getting to know your campus resources, engaging in consent education, and supporting your peers.

Remember, your safety and well-being matter. πŸ’›

There is a t.o.n of misinformation about s*x therapy which prevents many from seeking help.

Most people believe that s*x therapy is mostly for couples - but that’s not the case!

S*x therapy does not require both partners to be present (though sometimes it does help) and there are countless reasons that bring people to s*x therapy.

It can help both individuals and couples grow and maintain a deeper s*xual connection with themselves and their partners.

Ugh. We’re late but we worked so hard on this so it’s important we share it.

From violence and rejection, to navigating identity in a world that is often unwelcoming - the trauma experienced by the q***r community is distressing. There's tons of research that talks about the effects of traumatic experiences on the 2SLGBTQIA+ mental health.

But that's not all. Research also talks about the positive effects of providing support to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community! We can make a difference through little acts of kindness and acceptance.

Celebrating Pride is not only a celebration of love but also an acceptance of identities and diversity. It is also a reminder to reflect on the resilience and strength that 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals demonstrate every day in the face of significant trauma.

This journey hasnβ€˜t been easy for the 2SLGBTQIA+ folks and itβ€˜s incredibly important to show support as they heal through the trauma theyβ€˜ve experienced..

How did you celebrate Pride this year?

S*xual assault can make s*x complicated, uncomfortable and disempowering. A big part of recovery from s*xual assault for many survivors is reclaiming their s*xuality and finding s*xual empowerment.

A part of this healing journey involves processing the trauma. There is no right or wrong way to heal and everyone's healing journey differs. Understanding and processing your trauma and acknowledging your strength in times of vulnerability can make a huge difference!

If you're looking for support, make sure to reach out to therapists in your area who specialize in s*xual trauma and have training in positive s*x therapy/s*x education.

Remember: your past experiences are NOT a life sentence. You can't hit 'delete' on your past experiences but you can rise from your symptoms and begin living the life you want and deserve πŸ’™

✨ Follow for posts focused on educating, challenging, supporting, and healing from s*xual assault. ✨
