The Saau Chui sweeping circular hand striking technique can transfer smoothly to a follow-up takedown technique.
By including the takedown or throwing in the Saau Chui technique combination allows us to practice the throwing technique and lower the risk of injury from the impact of the Saau Chui strikes, although we are not padded with head protection or punching gloves.
This footage shows the Saau Chui strike transitioning into several takedowns or throwing combinations. The first is by having the Saau Chui redirect the challenger's energy and convert it into a throw over the hip, the second footage shows the hip throw and the last footage shows the transition into a throw with a leg reap.
