Eating enough protein when you have PBC is very important to build and maintain muscle mass, to keep you strong, and to maintain your immune system.

Try to limit your sugar intake, because excess sugar can cause your liver to store that excess as fat which can then cause further liver damage.

Try following a healthy plate model. If you are struggling with weight (gain or loss) this is definitely something to discuss with your doctor.

With PBC comes a risk of Osteoporosis. Take care of your bones. Make sure you have enough calcium & vitamin D.

Fiber plays an important role in maintaining healthy cholesterol, good bowel health, controlling blood sugar and maintaining a healthy body weight.

If you have PBC, you may benefit from eating foods high in healthy fats like fatty fish and olive oil.

Excess sodium (salt) in your diet may contribute to developing portal hypertension.
