The next tips are extremely important if your healing during these months, but can also be applied to fully healed clients wanting to protect the longevity of the treatment:

🌞Shield Your Tattoo from Direct Sunlight: The sun's harmful UV rays can fade and damage your tattoo. To protect it, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially during peak hours (10 am to 4 pm). If you plan to spend time outdoors, consider wearing a wide-brimmed hat or using an umbrella to create shade.

🌞Apply Sunscreen Regularly: Even if you're diligent about keeping your tattoo out of direct sunlight, it's crucial to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to the tattooed area.

🌞Be Cautious with Exfoliation and Peeling Products: During the summer, our skin naturally exfoliates more quickly. However, avoid using harsh exfoliants or peeling products directly on your tattooed area. These products can cause premature fading and affect the longevity of your permanent makeup.

🌞Stay Hydrated: Proper hydration is essential for maintaining healthy skin, including your tattooed area. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your skin moisturized from within.

🌞Follow Aftercare Instructions: If you recently had your permanent makeup tattoo done, make sure to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your tattoo artist. This typically includes avoiding makeup, steam, saunas, pools, excessive sweating and other potential irritants during the initial healing period.

Adhering to these guidelines will help your tattoo heal properly and preserve its color.

The process of neutralizing hyperpigmentation on the lips involves a couple steps. 👄

1️⃣: During the initial session, our aim is to create a uniform color base by colour correcting the color of the lips and lifting the saturation of brown and purple tones.

We concentrate on applying the treatment to areas with more melanin, ensuring that they blend in smoothly with areas that have less melanin, resulting in a balanced healed result. (Depending on a couple factors this step can be 1 or 2 treatments for a client)

2️⃣: Once the lips have healed with a consistent color, we proceed to the second step, where we apply the lip color desired by the client.

3️⃣: To maintain the results, it is recommended that clients receive annual touch-ups. However, if they choose not to come in for touch-ups, the effects will gradually fade over time.

Permanent Makeup Tattoos and Traditional Tattoos do you know the difference?

Permanent makeup and tattoos are both forms of tattooing, but they differ in their purpose, techniques, and the types of pigments used.

When it comes to permanent makeup the pigment is deposited into the upper layers of the skin, whereas tattoos pe*****te deeper into the dermis.
Despite its name, permanent makeup is not completely permanent because the placement of the ink deposited and also the pigments used are designed to fade over time.

❔Why do we work in the upper layer of the dermis making the results semi-permanent.

😊Applying pigments to the upper dermis layer of the skin is less invasive and more natural-looking enhancement leaving the results looking like actual makeup application instead of a normal tattoo. Besides, since we are working on facial features we want to make the procedures less invasive as possible in order to ensure best results especially over time.

Old school permanent makeup used to work deep in the skin just as traditional tattoos. This can cause blow outs easily and also colour issues over time (tattoos turning purlple/red/green with time).

The healing time for semi-permanent makeup can vary depending on the individual and the procedure. Typically, it takes about 7-10 days for the area to heal and the color to start settling in. During this time, it is important to follow proper aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing and to avoid any complications.

I like to point out to my clients that even though most healing occurs in the first 10 days, your end result will be visible around week 6-8.

🌟For lip blush:
The lips will be swollen immediately after the procedure and color will appear darker for the first 1-4 days. As the healing process takes place, the color will soften and blend into the natural lip color.

🌟For ombré brows:
The treated area will be red and swollen immediately after the procedure, and the color may appear darker for the first few days. After the scabbing stage, colour will start to bloom and takes around 6weeks to settle in.
