We’re selling Ice Queen!

SUPER fun, awesome business for sale. We’re selling Ice Queen for the cost of equipment & inventory only!

We love our little summer pop-up business, we are so passionate about it and the products we offer, especially our Hawaiian Shaved Ice, a HUGE hit!

Unfortunately, we (my partner & I) work full-time jobs, and after 2 years of building Ice Queen and having a blast with it, we are running out of steam and have chosen not to run it next summer. It breaks our hearts.

Ice Queen (a summer pop-up) was built from our obsession with Hawaiian Shaved Ice, an incredible icy treat that we had not been able to enjoy since visiting Hawaii. Ice Queen started a side hobby, a fun project, a little dream that became a reality. It’s truly been an incredible experience but we’re too old for 2 jobs!

This summer we moved to Kensington Market and hired a couple truly lovely employees that have taken a big load off our shoulders. Our rental lease is temporary and ends at the end of August. There is a possibility to extend the lease if the new owner wishes to do so. September is a great month for Shaved Ice & Ice Cream!

We were published in BlogTO and Toronto life last summer. We’re the only Shaved Ice vendors in the city and we have regulars that come all the way from Bolton for this delicious summer treat! Our product has never had a complaint, in fact 100% of our customers have been overly happy with it, and our Shaved Ice exceeds everyone’s expectations, even the expectations of those who, like us, fell in love with it in Hawaii and have not been able to find a comparable product until they found us!

We are looking to pass Ice Queen onto someone who will love it like we do and build on what we have already accomplished.

We are selling the business for only the cost of our used equipment (all in excellent condition) and inventory, under $50,000 in total. We have a very detailed itemized list to share with serious inquiries. Included in the sale is in-store training (as much as you want!), recipes, contacts, Instagram account, signage etc.. We will coach you and teach you everything we know so that you can fly with Ice Queen from day 1!

Let us not forget to mention our home-brewed Iced Tea, considered by many “THE BEST ICED TEA THEY’VE EVER HAD!”
We highly recommend adding a vanilla flavour shot!

Today we closed our shop to host a Shaved Ice workshop! Thank goodness for food colouring, we went through tons of fake syrup! We’re happy to report that we now have 6 King/Queens of Shaved Ice ready to serve you with a smile!!

On the same day we reintroduced our Hawaiian Shaved Ice at the shop, we celebrated uncle Joey’s 60th birthday with the most amazing backyard Hawaiian-themed party! Happy birthday Joey, you’re the greatest guy ever!

Our signage is finally up!!! Our landlord won’t allow us to remove the Hanabusa (previous business) sign, so we apologize to anyone hoping for pancakes, we don’t serve them!

Today we opened our doors in Kensington Market! We’re so excited that we hired a very artistic lady, who whipped up some lovely signs for us! We’re still waiting on our storefront sign & menus, but until then, hopefully our sandwich board & cone in the window will draw you in!
*** please note that we are not currently serving Shaved Ice. We will announce our Shaved Ice days within the next couple of weeks. Our hot attractions (2 new menu items only available at Ice Queen!) this summer will be announced soon & we can’t wait to share them with you!!!

Our dearest patrons & friends,
We are so sorry to have to let you know that we will not be operating Ice Queen in Leslieville this summer. This was a VERY difficult decision as our experience last year was incredible in every way.
While living in Leslieville, we were easily able to run the shop but we have since moved to the west end to be closer to our elderly parents. As you can imagine, the commute across the city is sometimes quite long and never reliable, thus, we have decided to open our shop closer to home. We’ll be in Kensington Market this summer.
What you have all given us was a true sense of community, kindness, friendship and so much support. This will never be forgotten and always cherished beyond measure.
We’re truly heartbroken at the thought of leaving our beautiful Leslieville behind but at this time, we’re not left with another option.
We are definitely open to the idea of returning next summer once we evaluate how our operation will run with multiple seasonal employees. Fingers crossed it’ll be smooth sailing so that we can open multiple locations in the future!
From the depths of our hearts, with every ounce of sincerity, we thank you more than words can describe.
We are hoping that Chad (owner of Queen Street Appliances) & his super lovely wife Sharon will set up an ice cream shop at the appliance store this summer so that our little customers won’t be too disappointed. We hate letting everyone down, especially the little ones! We will keep you posted!

In the coming days we will share with you our new location as we prepare for a busy summer in Kensington Market.

We wish all of you the very best summer! We have missed you & we’ll continue to do so. Nothing will ever compare to Leslieville and it’s beautiful people and thriving community.
