Last night the Toronto music community came together to support one of our own who is in need. The legendary Shamaka Khalid Ali!
If you've worked in the music Industry in Canada and the US you likely know or have played with Shamakah! He was very nice to me and gave me opportunities when I was coming up. Now you can give back and help him fight his battel with cancer.

It’s no secret that event planning has changed during Covid. People’s taste for events have shifted and now more than ever, event planners have to get creative to elevate the excitement factor at their events.
Here are a few ways you can do just that:
1. Create a sense of anticipation: start promoting your event weeks or even months in advance. Use social media, email marketing, even old-fashioned flyers and posters to get people excited about what’s to come.
2. Keep it fresh: no one wants to attend the same boring event year after year. Mix things up by changing the location, theme, speakers, or format of your event.

Entertainment can provide a much-needed sense of escapism. Whether we are dealing with the struggles of daily life, such as stressful work or relationship issues, or more serious challenges like illness or loss, entertainment can serve as a powerful outlet for our thoughts and feelings. In difficult times, entertainment can be a welcome distraction from the negative headlines and propaganda that often seem to saturate our news feeds and social media timelines. Additionally, entertaining content has been shown to have a powerful psychological effect on our minds, helping us to decompress, refocus our thoughts, and even promote healthy social connections. However, it is important to find a balance between entertainment and more productive activities in order to avoid disengagement from the pressing issues facing our world today. Ultimately, entertainment can be a valuable tool for promoting mental health and well-being.
What is your favourite form of entertainment to distract you from all the negativity and bad news? Personally I love playing Ping Pong on my oculus in VR. It's fun, keeps me moving, and is a totally immersive distraction from the outside world.
