Sometimes you get clients who make you seriously love your job. And sometimes you make damn sure that you get the invite to come back and stay in this adorable guesthouse up on Bigwin island, Ontario. These are just my preliminary design renders - we’re halfway through the build and design right now - and I literally cannot wait to share the final pics in the spring! I’ll take them after I wake up in there and drink my first coffee on the deck…

I’ve been quiet on here, but only because life has gradually been getting a little bit louder. 🌈BOOM💥. I’ve been absent for a while (beavering away on something I can’t wait to share with you) so in the meantime I thought I’d come back with the most vibrant (ie LOUD) pattern I’ve ever created - also one of the very first I ever did as a repeat pattern rookie👶.

It was originally created specifically for fabric, but scrolling through you can see how many iterations of colours (sooooooooooooo many) I generally take a pattern through before I decide on the finished product. This busy little number even got softened up to the point of making it onto my wallpaper line too! Which is your fave?? Happy summer y’all! 🌞🌺🦜

Third lockdown in Toronto 😭.

Posting pictures of interiors feels extremely weird and out-of-touch with reality at the moment so I’ve been quieter than usual on here. But I realize that it’s important to not be crying inside about the decrepit state of our social fabric every second or I’ll never stop, so please take a moment to pretend the world isn’t falling apart and enjoy this lovely alternate shot from our client’s bedroom, starring *Stellular*. Bring on the basement kitchen!!! Truth be told, I can’t yet show you my favourite part of this kitchen because I’m still waiting for a fabric shipment to arrive, but until then...here she is! It’s time for another basement reveal! Arguably the MOST important room in any home, it’s aaaall about the bathroom for me! We wanted this one to be a true sanctuary for our tenants, so the soaker tub was a must! We picked these beautiful encaustic shower tiles from to really set the mood when chillin in the bubbles, and we were beyond chuffed to find this antique vanity which warmed up the space immediately and gave it that perfect lived-in feel. Green is my current love affair so the walls got the Essex green treatment from Benjamin Moore, topped off with some rich gold accents. We couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out and I hope you love it too! ❤️

Nine months later 💥💥💥...we have finally finished our basement renovation, and our wondrous new tenants are moving in today!!! We feel incredibly lucky to live in a home full of dear friends who feel like family - so many hard workin peeps made this happen and slowly but surely I will reveal all of our favourite little parts of this project...for now, here’s a corner of the breakfast nook, all dressed up in our ‘Bier Garden’ and ‘Stellular’ cushions!

HAPPY ACCIDENTS. I love it when a mistake comes together. I was going for something entirely different when I started messing around with one of my pine cone illustrations - but then this happened and I decided to run with it🏃🏻‍♀️(because I’m wild and free and untethered in all aspects of my life and that’s a complete fabrication bc I’m about as loose as an iron truss rod but I’m really trying I swear).

What do you think? Is this one worth more exploration? Do you prefer a ‘go bold’ or a ‘rest easy’ kind of vibe? I’ve been experimenting with both and would be grateful for your thoughts. Be honest. I mean, it was an accident to start with, right??

*And for those of you who are more interested in the props here, that little beauty is a 1957 Fender Princeton Tweed amp and it lives in our family room with all of its noisy brothers and sisters).
