The way we interact in these communities is dictated by how the neighbourhoods are built and designed.
Are we isolated or are we in close proximity together?
Do we have the ability to walk to shops or do we have to drive to get someplace? The land owners, city councillors and government bodies create and shape how the answers to these questions unfold. That’s a big responsibility.

As the owner a marketing agency for the past four years, I have worked with some of the most influential Canadian families in the home building and design industry.
I know there is a reason and purpose to this, which will be revealed soon.
Being a relatively young woman in this industry is a blessing and a curse. The blessing is that I get to reinvent myself often. As I mature, I have found clients that align more with my values. I’m at a stage now where I am mindful of my work’s impact on the community. Unfortunately, women’s experience’s are not always considered in the industry.
It’s easy to share the grandeur and fun of this industry, but most people don’t see the pros and cons. There are certain insights and information, that are only available through first hand experience, from being in rooms with powerful people. Not everyone has that opportunity.

The Forest To City exhibit is on now until August 31st at the Vranic Clear Skies model home in Ilderton.
This exhibit will take the community through exploring the natural world’s regenerative potential as we grapple with our human connection to forests through art.
As London and surrounding communities have evolved, the Forest City has had to adapt its balance between the natural and built worlds. Featuring a 8 artists living between London and Toronto, the exhibit is not one to miss!

This art piece is “Smokey Skies Temagami Lake” by Chuck Beamish.
Chuck Beamish’s pieces celebrate the landscape and its transitions through the seasons in a Northern environment. His professional career as an architect, in which he has designed and managed large scale construction projects for the urban public, influences his artwork, where he brings to life natural spaces for the viewer.
We invite you to see the exhibit and explore the natural environment—including the Clear Skies pond and forest— which these artists celebrate.

The exhibit features work from eight, emerging and established artists from London and Toronto, who use built materials and pieces to explore the ideas of our relationship to the forest and city through their works.
Owner of the model home, John Vranic, is committed to supporting artists and building vibrant communities. This art exhibit is a gift for the community to enjoy and help visitors imagine a new life living cohesively with the natural world.

This year’s gingerbread house day was a magical experience

HGTV personalities David and Desta brought their skills to Friday Harbour Resort's Parisienne Bakery to see who could decorate the best gingerbread house.
The experience was a true community collaboration.
From the creators and community builders of Friday Harbour Resort, those that sell the homes in the community (David), those that design the interior spaces (Desta) and community storytellers (Natasha from InnisfilToday).
We had a fantastic group of people attend the experience both in person as well as virtually.
The whole community supported this experience, on social media as well as in the local media.
