The Baer Collection salutes Miami Beach’s on-going vitality, which is especially noted in its hospitality landmarks, and it honors the late Barbara Baer Capitman, the community activist and author who led the 1970s effort to preserve Miami Beach’s historic Art Deco district.

Stackabl’s Baer Collection is a nod to a time and place: America’s roaring 1920s, exuberant ‘40s, and their Art Deco backdrops – the details of which Miami Beach fully embraced. This collection, in these cautiously optimistic, post pandemic times, salutes Miami Beach’s on-going vitality, which is especially noted in its hospitality landmarks.

Made up of five pendants, this medley honours the late Barbara Baer Capitman, the community activist and author who led the effort to preserve Miami Beach’s historic Art Deco district in the 1970s. The pendants are available for purchase through Mindy Solomon and Stackabl.

Sarah Coleman is a New York City based visual artist who is inspired by both high luxury and everyday items. Nostalgia and play drives much of her subversive approach to making art. Leveraging designer materials, playing off logos, and honoring legacy brand archives, Coleman gives repurposed objects a chance at another life. To describe her color selection, Coleman says, “They speak for themselves—they’re humorous.”

Part of Stackabl’s third pendant collection – available individually and in clusters – The Arcilla Cluster was inspired during a pilgrimage taken by the design studio’s founder,

Escaping Toronto’s dreary 2022 winter weather, Forrest took a road trip southwest to Texas, seeing works by some of his art and architecture heroes, including Donald Judd, Louis Kahn, and Richard Serra, as he went. An inspiring expedition, it was the rich palette of the landscape he passed through that impressed upon him the most. These luminaires – in vivacious clay, earthy oat, and charcoal tones – are sure to transport you somewhere soothing, from the comfort of your own homes.
