It's midnight on May 5th, 2025 at The Hotel De Wereld in Wageningen, The Netherlands, where a torch is being lit–one sparked to commemorate the capitulation of the occupying N**i forces, 80 years ago today. This is The Liberation Flame, a testament to the hard-bought freedom of the Dutch—1,700 of whom will work together to carry it out, to the far corners of The Netherlands.

This time-honoured tradition will ignite a chain reaction across the country—scores of musicians, historical reenactors, veterans, and everyday revellers like you will join together in celebrating the value of liberty with song, dance, and simple discussion over a Freedom Meal (served exclusively on May 5th).
