Wow, incredible gym at the hotel - huge, 2-storey views of . No wonder bustling full at 7am! Not only hotel guests clearly, these folks serious on their fitness. Fitting end to NA debut
This is truly sad: 82% of dealers in Canada found to have ZERO EVs in stock when data was collected last year (February+March 2022). And this was with a massive dealer sample size of 3,208 dealers across the country (roughly four-fifths of all vehicle dealers in Canada), and heading into prime spring selling season. Not sure if this included Tesla retailers.

Saying "we did it!" and "sorry" at the same time...
The Canadian peeps for this trip. There are salt water beaches here near the local VinHomes mega mall, some public, some for residents.
Water puppets are apparently a traditional Vietnamese art form, dating from the rural traditions of northern Vietnam from over 1,000 years ago, where the local ponds and swamp water would be used in puppet shows for all.
VinFast representatives, after a tour of the e-scooter production shop, just said their electric scooters will be on sale in 2023 in BOTH Europe and North America! Will have to confirm, but that would be a major traffic generator for new VinFast retailers.
Landed in Vietnam, after 16 hours from San Francisco; ready to VinFast this week. Can’t wait to delve into the details of this new EV company, set to arrive by year end in Canada.
Shout out to City of Toronto and Toronto Hydro for its overnight EV urban parking pilot project, which worked to give me a full charge (420 km on dash, vs 378 km officially) on nicely lit and reliable FLO chargers to start in Canada. And for only $3 for a 20-100% charge overnight, cost less than if I had charged this tester at my home L2.
Who wore it better: 6 or J30t?
FYI: Happened to see a truckload of Hyundai Ioniq 5s unloading around 10am this morning (June 10) at Queensway Hyundai. Didn’t snap a pic, but here’s a direct comparison I did between the impressive Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. https://electricautonomy.ca/2022/04/28/kia-ev6-hyundai-ioniq-5-similarities-differences/
Behind the wheel of Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5: what makes each EV tick? Electric Autonomy Canada does a head-to-head comparison between the EV6 and Ioniq 5 on performance, charging speeds and driver experience
Really liked the XC90 plug-in hybrid at , but wanted to discover its all-electric range myself. So far, with no or one fan climate control and mostly urban driving, I’m at 61 km travelled and 2 km of AER left as indicated. Though I’ve heard the engine on at least once, even using the all-battery (request) mode. Wondering why, plus why no AM radio OR at least digital FM radio that can tune in digital AM stations for talk or sports radio Volvo Car Canada?
A day before Ontario is set to go to the polls, here is what each major party is promising when it comes to electric vehicles. Even though most promise some type of EV rebate, except for the PCs, with supplies relatively limited for the foreseeable future, personally I'd have rather seen a used EV rebate with a 'cash for clunkers' component that would encourage drivers of the oldest and most polluting vehicles (older diesels especially) to scrap them, as available in BC. https://www.wheels.ca/news/ev-advice-provincial-election-promises-differ
EV 101: Here’s what Ontario parties are promising on electric vehicles Each of the four main political parties running in the June 2 Ontario election have made electric vehicle ownership and the introduction of charging stations part of their platforms. These policies were also mentioned during the recently televised leader’s debate on May 16.
