Muse Movement
Muse is a passionate Pilates and movement community that strives to make the practice accessible✨ Yoga, Pilates, Movement Therapy.
Hey Muse Fam, do you remember the times we had ruby in the studio. This beauty was a therapy couch, an IG posing masterpiece and a place where we gathered and giggled in between classes. During the pandemic our founder Keri felt this need to clear! She wanted everything out; she wanted minimal space and clean lines everywhere. Turns out it was huge foresight because upon return to the studio we became a reformer studio only, until recently, and there’s no way Ruby coulda stay with the machines. This vintage gal got a new home with an arts student furnishing her first apartment and her and her proud papa came to pick it up. We thought it had a really good home until we saw it on facebook marketplace selling for triple what we sold it for a couple years later, lol. Hey an art students’ gotta make money somehow. Thanks for the memories of the big heart shaped couch.

This Week’s Playlist: In a field with Van ✨ Another movement playlist, just for you!
We are going back in time with this weeks’ playlist selection. This one was made with some real nostalgia for the Music my dad listened to and introduced me to when I was a kid. Real classics from the 1960’s and 70’s before auto-tune and synthesizers lolz. This is definitely a singing along in the kitchen with friends while making dinner or road trippin’ kind of playlist. Let us know what you think
All playlists are on Spotify - link in bio. Excuse the mess in there the account is under construction as we organize it for you! 👍
Join us in welcoming our new team member! 💚 Kenna (she/her)
Community Support - Studio Host, Muse Movement Teacher Training Student
A student and community member herself, Kenna is passionate about making sure each student at Muse has everything they need the moment they walk in the door and beyond. She is here to greet you, host you and enhance your overall experience at the studio.
✨ Here’s a little bit about Kenna...
Movement has always been a big part of Kenna’s life. She danced and explored many movement modalities as a child and throughout her adolescence, always led by curiosity and a willingness to try something new. Kenna has a background in Indigenous Studies and Sustainability and works as an outdoor educator in Toronto. For Kenna, there is a similarity in the embodiment she feels when outdoors and when moving her body, a sense of ground, alignment, and presence. Although movement has been a throughline in her life, the discovery of Pilates felt like a homecoming. While recovering from an injury in 2021, Pilates offered a place of healing and (re)discovery.
Kenna is a student at Muse, has participated in our Energy Exchange program, and is now enrolled in our Mat Teacher Training, you can also find her at the desk in the Mat studio!

Hey Muse Fam✨ It’s been a minute and there are lots of new members of our community here on IG and in the studio, so I thought I would take a chance to introduce myself.
I am Keri, the founder of Muse Movement Studio. You may not see me around the studio too often as I currently reside in Lisbon, but I am still very much involved and Muse is a creation of my heart and my passion (and some blood, sweat and tears).
I founded Muse almost 10 years ago with the hopes of creating a movement space that was not intimidating or exclusive. I wanted people to feel both comfortable being awkward in their bodies as well as finding strength, grace and connection to them. I wanted to create a community and a space where people felt like they were just hanging with pals rolling around on the floor and not making a big production of “going to a fitness studio” and getting a workout. Rather, just having fun, listening to some great tunes and feeling good. I never wanted taking a class at Muse to feel like a status symbol or a trend the way some boutique fitness can feel.
I grew up with an autoimmune disease that left me unable to participate in a lot of things. I felt awkward, I felt on the outside, I felt like I couldn’t talk about my pain. I didn’t even enter a gym until I was 28 years old as I still believed I would get laughed at or “found out” or worse kicked out of these spaces for not being the right fit. My Pilates practice changed my relationship to my body, to community and to self.
My goal with Muse was and still is to help facilitate this for others. There have been many, many changes over the past ten years but this has always been the guiding light. To try as best we can to provide a safe space where you can unplug, tune in and find empowerment through connection.
What does Muse mean to you? Let us know in the comments.
