🌼 Today's reminder: take time for self-care! 🌼

Prioritize self-care activities to nurture your mental and emotional well-being. Schedule relaxation time, engage in deep breathing exercises, or try visualization techniques. Take care of your physical health by getting enough sleep, maintaining good nutrition, and incorporating movement into your routine. Remember, self-care is not selfish; it's essential for your overall well-being. Make self-care a priority and watch your stress levels decrease. You deserve it!

Lovebombing is a manipulative technique used by some individuals to quickly and intensely shower their partner with attention, affection, and gifts in an attempt to gain control and create dependency. This behavior can be overwhelming and may feel like a dream come true at first, but it can quickly become suffocating and damaging to one's self-worth and independence.

To tell if a relationship is healthy, it's essential to look for signs of mutual respect, trust, and communication. Both partners should feel valued and heard, and their needs and boundaries should be respected. Healthy relationships involve compromise, empathy, and support, rather than domination, control, or manipulation.

It's also important to pay attention to how your partner treats you outside of the lovey-dovey honeymoon phase. Do they respect your boundaries and priorities? Do they communicate openly and honestly? Do they make an effort to maintain a healthy balance of independence and togetherness? These are all crucial factors in determining the health of a relationship.

Learning to say "no" is a vital skill for setting boundaries and safeguarding your time and energy. Saying "no" effectively can even help keep you safe.

Here are some tips:

Be Direct: Simply saying "No" or "No, thank you" is often enough. You may need to repeat it if necessary. Avoid engaging in further conversation if you feel pressured to concede.

Nonverbal Communication: Pay attention to your body language. Use good eye contact, stand tall, and maintain a confident posture. Your nonverbal behavior can reinforce your assertiveness.

Practice Boundaries: If you've been passive for a long time, transitioning to assertiveness may feel challenging. Remember, it takes practice, and making a few mistakes along the way is okay. Keep trying!

People often think of therapy as something you do when you're broken, when you need to 'fix' your problems. But therapy is really about helping you learn how to navigate your own life with more ease, grace, and connection. To allow yourself the space to uncover the experiences that have shaped you, to learn about them, and to learn from them. A place where you grow as a person and develop new skills that help you live your life in a way that feels good for you.

Therapy is not a quick fix, but it is an investment in yourself. It takes work to make it work. The therapist plays an important role - someone who can guide you, listen carefully and deeply, support you and offer feedback - but ultimately it is up to you to put in the hard work of being vulnerable, honest, and curious about what is happening in your life. But if you are willing to do that work... the rewards are truly endless.

Do you have questions about what happens in therapy? I'd be happy to answer anything that's on your mind. Drop them in the comments, or get in touch for a 1:1 conversation.

It's easy to get caught up in our problems and feel like they are the biggest obstacles in our lives. However, it's important to take a step back and gain some perspective. Oftentimes, the problems we face may not be as significant as we initially perceive them to be.

One way to gain perspective is to focus on the bigger picture. Think about your life as a whole and all the things you have to be grateful for. Consider the challenges that others face and how your problems may pale in comparison.

Another way to gain perspective is to take action towards solving your problem. When we actively work towards a solution, we gain a sense of control and empowerment. This can help to minimize the significance of the problem.

Getting the perspective of a trusted friend, mentor or therapist can also help you get a more realistic sense of the problem, and your approach to handling it.

It's natural to compare ourselves to others, but it's important to remember that everyone's journey is unique. Comparing your beginning to someone else's middle can be discouraging and demotivating.

When we focus on what others have achieved, we may overlook our own progress and accomplishments. And we don't know the struggles and challenges that others have faced to get where they are.

It's important to celebrate our own progress and focus on our own goals instead of measuring ourselves against others. By comparing ourselves to others, we may also be setting unrealistic expectations for ourselves, which can lead to disappointment and frustration.

Remember that your journey is your own, and it's important to be kind to yourself and celebrate your own successes, no matter how small they may seem.

Self-care has become a concept that is often conflated with 'treating yourself', but it's much more than that - it's actually about treating yourself WELL.

Self-care is about making sure that you take care of yourself - physically and mentally - so that you're able to meet the demands of life.

Self-care is important because it helps us to feel better, and when we feel better it can be easier to get through the ups and downs of life. Self-care doesn't have to cost anything - there are plenty of ways to take care of yourself that don't require any spending at all!

Self-care can be as simple as taking a break from the computer, or going for a walk at lunch. It might mean getting up early to read before work, or watching your favourite TV show at home on Friday nights instead of going out. It could mean booking in some time with friends every month so that you don't feel lonely, or even taking time to do something you love on your days off.

Self-care is different for everyone, and you'll find what works best for you. The important thing to remember is that it's not selfish to take care of yourself - it's actually really important!

What do some of your must-have self-care routines look like?

Overthinking can be a source of stress and anxiety. It is often fueled by the desire to control every aspect of our lives, including things that are beyond our control. Understanding what you can and cannot control is essential to breaking free from the cycle of overthinking.

Focusing on what you can control, such as your thoughts, actions, and reactions, empowers you to make positive changes in your life. It is important to let go of things that are beyond your control, such as other people's behaviors or external circumstances. Accepting this can help you to feel more at peace and less anxious.

Learning to differentiate between what you can and cannot control takes time and practice. It may involve setting boundaries, practicing mindfulness, or seeking support from loved ones or a mental health professional. Remember, it is okay to ask for help when you need it.

Life can be challenging at times, and we often find ourselves carrying heavy burdens. However, it's essential to recognize that not everything that weighs us down is ours to carry. Sometimes, we take on responsibilities or emotions that aren't our own, leading to unnecessary stress and anxiety.

Learning to let go of things that don't belong to us can be liberating. It requires us to be honest with ourselves and identify what we can control and what we cannot. We may need to set boundaries, seek support from others, or simply accept that some things are beyond our influence.

Remembering that not everything is ours to carry can help us focus our energy on the things that matter most. It can also lead to greater compassion for others as we become more aware of the burdens they may be carrying. So, take a deep breath, let go of what's not yours, and trust that you'll find the strength to carry what truly belongs to you.

By speaking to ourselves with kindness, compassion, and positivity, we can change the way we view ourselves and the world around us. When we practice positive or kind self-talk, we are more likely to believe in ourselves, set goals, and overcome challenges.

We can also reduce stress and anxiety by replacing negative thoughts with positive affirmations. It's important to remember that self-talk is not just about what we say to ourselves, but also how we say it. Using a gentle tone and choosing words that are encouraging and uplifting can make a big difference in how we feel about ourselves.

So, let's make a conscious effort to be kind to ourselves every day.

Healthy relationships are so important to our wellbeing.

It can be hard to figure out whether a relationship is healthy or not, but here are some clues:

Do you feel good when you're with this person? Do they help you grow and become the best version of yourself? Or do they make you feel drained?

Do they encourage you to be your best self? Or do they try and keep you small?

Does this person make you feel safe, or do they threaten your sense of security? Do they support your dreams and aspirations, or do they try and hold them back?

Are they there for when things get hardβ€”or do they run away at the first sign of trouble?

Sometimes we have to limit or let go of unhealthy relationships, and it's normal to feel sadness and grief about that.

But it's an incredible act of self-love to make space in your life for healthy, meaningful relationships.

Who struggles with anxiety?

Introverts? Yes.

Extroverts? Yes.

Anyone can struggle with anxiety. And all of us do, at some point, because anxiety is a normal part of the human experience. But if your anxiety is getting in the way of your life, then it's time to talk to someone.

Ask yourself: are you having trouble sleeping? Is your mood affected by how much you're worrying about something? Are you avoiding things that used to be fun or important to you? Do you feel like your anxiety is getting worse?

If so, it could be helpful to talk to someone about how you're feeling. You don't have to deal with anxiety alone β€” and the good news is that there are many effective ways to manage it (no matter if you're an introvert, extrovert or ambivert!).

Accepting kindness and positivity in your life is essential for your overall well-being. It helps to boost your mood, reduce stress levels and improve your mental health. When you accept kindness from others, you are allowing yourself to be vulnerable and open to receiving love and support.

This can be challenging for some people, especially if they are used to being independent or have trust issues. However, it is important to recognize that accepting kindness from others is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of strength.

Positivity also plays a significant role in your life. It helps to cultivate a positive outlook on life and encourages you to focus on the good things.

By embracing positivity, you will be more resilient and better equipped to handle challenges that come your way. It is important to surround yourself with positive influences, such as supportive friends and family, uplifting music or books, and inspiring quotes. By doing so, you will create a positive environment that will help you thrive.

Letting go of things you can't control can be challenging, but it's an essential life skill that can help you reduce stress and anxiety. It's natural to want to control every aspect of your life, but sometimes circumstances are beyond your control. When this happens, focusing on what you can control can help you feel empowered.

One technique for letting go of things you can't control is to practice mindfulness. This involves staying present in the moment and accepting things as they are. It can also help to focus on the things that bring you joy and make you feel fulfilled.

Another technique is to reframe your thoughts. Instead of dwelling on the things you can't control, focus on the things you can. This can help you feel more positive and proactive.
Ultimately, letting go of things you can't control is about accepting that some things are beyond your influence. It's about focusing your energy on the things that matter most to you, and letting go of the rest.
