In October and November we enjoyed some entertainment on some of the units. Thank you Dave Rowan and Roberta Hunt for a great sing-a-long and bringing up fond memories. As you can see everyone got involved lol

Next, was the fall leaves tour in November 2021.

Introducing OBIE, a virtual gaming systems for resident engagement. Obie came to us in March 2021 with help from a very gracious donor. OBIE is an important part of activations' programming in keeping all who participate as well as those with lower cognitive abilities engaged. Next time you visit activation ask for an OBIE demonstration!

Who likes a beach party!

Next was the residents' BBQ 2021. We had a great time. Special thanks to Anderson Phillips of Enchanting Steelpan for the lovely steelpan music.

Our trip to Kew Beach in August 2021. This was our first trip outside in over a year! Like your favorite pics!! So happy to see those smiling faces. 😁😁

I know its been a while since we posted but lets go back a little and catch up. So much has happened over the last 2 yrs, some battles we have won and some we have not but what we did do was keep our heads above water... Lets pick up were we left off to see a few of the activities we had since last summer and the smiles....ooh the smiles😊😊😊😊 Firstly, I wanted to say a special Thank YOU to Mr. Glen Moorhouse an exceptional person and leader of our home for many years. Wishing you and your family all the happiness in your retirement. We will miss you dearly!

We had our first entertainer last week! Thank you Brent M for your fabulous voice and great guitar playing! The residents really enjoyed and I think I was more excited than they were lol!

Up next Smoothie cart! Smoothie cart is a smash hit and you will see it on our program calendar regularly as it is very popular this summer. Fresh fruits or frozen fruits, yogurt and a pinch of honey does the trick! Yummmyyyy! Does it look like we are enjoying it?

Soooo this summer has been great so far, the weather, the people and the events we've had with our residents at Nisbet Lodge. This was our strawberry social we had last month. Everyone loves strawberries! What do you like your strawberries with, ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate syrup or all the above! lol 🤩

"Mary, Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow?"...its growing beautifully.🥰

Soooo for Canada Day the ice cream cart and yes cookies were shared to all residents! Also special thanks to our local MP Julie Dabrusin and Gerrard street bakery for the donation of these wonderful cookies too!

As Canadians we are proud to live in a country of such great opportunities. On this Canada Day 2021, we would also like to reflect on the recent discoveries that has affected our Indigenous Nations and offer our prayers and condolences for those affected and their families.
Let us all strive to discover and acknowledge the truth and together shape a better future for us all as Canadians.

Soooo I promised a few pics to see what our residents have been up to lately...well late last month we started doing some gardening. Residents got to go up to the rooftop to water the plants or just around and chitty chat!😄 Stay tuned....

This past weekend was the installation of our new 2,000 pound, 20 ton capacity (240,000 BTU’s) HVAC cooling unit being lifted 13 stories to Nisbet roof! Residents and staff will now have air cooling in rooms and common areas thanks to the Ministry of Long-term Care and our donors. Startup expected early July.
