English for health care (EHC) is designed for students who are working in or plan to work in a English-speaking health care environment. Doctors, nurses, lab technicians, and other medical professionals benefit from learning the general English language and communication skills for their field.

This course teaches students the language skills and vocabulary needed in health care and the workplace. It covers speaking, listening and reading on a wide range of topics - from technical skills to ethical concerns, from communicating with patients to discussing with colleagues.

The program includes Health Care studies, Job skills and Medical Terminology classes to improve fluency and proficiency.

Sophia has worked with students of all ages as an ESL and EAP instructor since 2008. She has a M.ED and a B.Ed with concentration in curriculum and pedagogy. She is TESL and OCT certified. Prior to her work as a teacher, she was a writer for the Canadian Immigrant Magazine, and worked closely with newcomers from all walks of life and liaised with different institutions that work to welcome newcomers to Canada. We are very happy and excited to have Sophia join us in her new role!
