Summer Festivals - Line Cook

Do you enjoy the outdoors, street festivals and cooking? Join Erica’s Authentic Team this summer for an exciting opportunity working at 3 of Toronto’s most exciting street festivals. Cook side by side with Erica Augustine a Culinary Expert in some of Trinidad’s most popular and delicious street foods.

Locations & Dates:
Taste of Lawrence - July 8, 9, 10
Junior Carnival - July 16
Jerk Festival - August 5, 6, 7

Number of Positions: 3

Compensation: $15 per hour

Job Responsibilities:
* Set up and stock cooking stations with all necessary supplies
* Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
* Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
* Clean up station and take care of leftover food
* Stock inventory appropriately
* Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
* Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
* Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Requirements and Skills:
* At least 1 year cooking experience, including experience as a Home Cook, Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook
* Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
* Able to execute assigned task with little to no supervision
* Familiar with industry’s best practices
