On June 12, we celebrate the declaration of Philippine independence from colonial rule (for more than 300 years) of Spain in 1898. We remember those who fought for our rights and freedoms, our heroes then and now.

We are proud of our strength and courage as Filipinos. Lets continue to remember our brave heroes, as well as acknowledge and express gratitude to our present day heroes💙❤️💛

We had an amazing time with all 15 Filipino Student Associations across Canada reflecting on various topics prevalent to our Filipinx-Canadian experiences in our identities, our experiences during the pandemic, as well as our lives as students in university. The conversations helped us to connect with one another though far apart, gain insight from each other, make new friendships and deepen connections. It was wonderful to see the Filipino Student Associations come together in this way despite the circumstances! We hope that one day we would be able to do this event in person with all our pamilyas together💙❤️💛

You are invited to PAGKAKAISA: Canada-Wide FSA Conference! It is the very first FSA conference spanning across the country. It consists of 15 different Filipino Students Associations and is meant to be a collaborative, end-of-the-year event that allows members of multiple FSA’s to come together and reflect on the past year, all while maintaining old friendships and making new connections.

On March 27, 2021 at 7:30pm EST, FSA members (general members and executives alike) are invited to join us in interactive and reflective discussions, consisting of topics from Filipino Representation to Stories of Migration to Filipino-Canadian Identities.

A huge thank you to all of our FSAY pamilya, our alumni and all our members for celebrating with us during our very special reunion this year!❤️🥺

We had an amazing time getting to know more about each other, our association’s history and our collective and individual stories of growth, struggle, successes, and triumphs. We are all so humbled and inspired by the words of all our past and current presidents and the immense work that they have done in leading our pamilya from the 80’s to now, in establishing, reviving, and continuing to foster our Filipino community!

We are also incredibly proud of each member who has dedicated so much of their time, energy, efforts and talents in representing, promoting and nurturing our Filipino culture here in Canada. Each member, coucil or general, past or present have all contributed so much to our story that will continue on for generations to come.

We are grateful for your presence, support and the laughter shared, for the friendships formed over the years which continue to grow and remain strong. To our president speakers, Kuya Roberto Ramirez, Kuya Daniel Andrade, Ate Georelle Mendoza and Ate Jackie Cabildo, thank you for inspiring us with your stories and for your extraordinary leadership, for taking FSAY to new heights. We all have learned so much from you.❤️

Thank you to FSAY’s amazing council in organizing and putting together this event, for everyone’s hard work and dedication. FSAY has expanded, evolved and has been so successful in making our visions come to life and bringing everyone together through teamwork.
