The #RotaractTO story

The idea for Rotaract emerged in the mid 1960s, building on the success of Interact, Rotary’s service program for youth founded in 1962. Rotaract started as a service program individuals ages 17 to 25, sponsored by local Rotary clubs. The first Rotaract club was certified by Rotary on 13 March 1968 at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

The Rotaract Club of Toronto was the first club of its kind in Ontario, chartered in 1980 and later reactivated in 1987. Since then, we have been serving our local community and communities abroad for 30+ years of continuous service. We are proudly sponsored by the Rotary Club of Toronto, chartered in 1912, one of the longest serving Rotary Clubs in the world.

All these years later, our club remains a point of convergence for students and young professionals from all backgrounds and walks of life looking to become active leaders in the local community and communities abroad trough professional development and impactful volunteer community projects.
