Jester King began as a farmhouse brewery committed to mixed culture and spontaneous fermentation. The beers incorporate well water, local grains, fruits and vegetables, foraged plants, and native yeast and bacteria so as to make beer uniquely tied to a time, place, and people. Inspiration comes from the classic farmhouse breweries of Europe that embrace principles of subtlety, restraint, patience, full attenuation and interesting fermentation character.

🍷 The Giandon Rosso is made from a blend of Malbo Gentile, Lambrusco, and Marzemino. A fresh and juicy wine that is slightly earthy with good acidity, it’s the perfect table wine.

🇮🇹 Il Farneto is the project of Marco Bertoni. Located in the hills above Modena and Emilia Romagna along the Secchia river, this estate started with 6 hectares of vines planted in the 1990’s. Run biodynamically since 2003, the winery is worlds apart from the large, industrial wineries that dominate the area. Under the helm of winemaker natural Tommaso Turci, Il Farneto produces wines from indigenous grape varieties using only natural yeasts and traditional methods.

👊 BERGKLOSTER 👊

Situated in Westofen in the Rheinhessen region of Germany, the Bergkloster winery straddles the line between historical and progressive. The region has been cultivating grapes for wine production since ancient Roman occupation (1200 years ago) and it’s also the home to the oldest surviving records of a German vineyard. Westofen is one of the hottest regions in Germany and as a result it offers the most optimal conditions for the ripening of grapes. The soil consists of limestone with clay marl, as a result of coral sediment.

Jason Groebe is the fifth generation to run the family winery - he’s an incredibly cheerful person who walks through life with a big smile on his face, loves to crack jokes, listens to trap music and of course, drinks good wine. Like many young winemakers in the Rheinhessen, Jason has transitioned the estate towards a more natural winemaking style - with all the consequences. He completed his viticulture apprenticeship in 2013, gained experience at renowned wineries and then studied viticulture at the Geisenheim University of Applied Sciences.
