Empty the shelters!
This dog was abandoned at our front door.
He and so many others have found themselves in our care and our shelters are at capacity.
In light of a recent surge in abandoned and surrendered pets, our shelters have reached a critical capacity, and we are faced with the challenge of finding happy homes for all of them. To address this, we are doing an “Empty the Shelters” campaign where we are waiving the adoption fee to ensure that each and every animal in our care has the chance to find a loving home. We wish circumstances were different but the reality is that more and more animals are coming through our doors each day, and we are running out of space.
Each animal here has its own story, filled with hope and a desire for companionship. By removing the barrier of our adoption fee for a short time, we hope to encourage more families to consider adopting to give these animals the chance they deserve to live happy, fulfilling lives. Trust us, shelter animals have such a special love to give.
We are calling on our supporters, if you can’t adopt an animal yourself, we hope you’ll share our posts with your network to get the word out that we have a ton of amazing animals looking for homes. Until September 1st, the adoption fee is $0 (a license fee will apply - dogs is $25 and $15 for cats). Every adoption is a step toward a brighter future for these pets and helps alleviate the strain on our shelters. Every animal that finds a wonderful home makes space for another one that needs our help.
Visit toronto.ca/adoptapet to see ALL the animals available for this campaign or call Toronto Animal Services at 416-338-PAWS (7297).

Hi! I'm a dog walker in Toronto. I'm not sure if you all know but city council pushed a motion to ban dog walkers from Ramsden. It was supposed to go to vote in Sept but was pushed through without our knowledge a couple of weeks ago. We have started a petition to reverse the ban until an anternate space can be created for us and I was hoping I could share the petition on your page?

Leo is feeling a little down as he hasn’t had much interest in him.
Will you help him feel better by sharing him in hopes his forever home will find him? He loves his foster family very much and is a great little guy but would love a family/person to call his very own.

In walls of grey, I lay alone,
Where echoes speak in somber tone.
Once a home, now just a space,
A longing heart, a slower pace.
My eyes, they search for you each day,
In every shadow, come what may.
The gate swings open, hope ignites,
But fades with the falling of the night.
I dream of fields and running free,
Of joyful barks and your pat on me.
But dreams are fleeting, like the breeze,
That whispers through forgotten trees.
I've much to give, love yet to spend,
For loyalty, I'm known to lend.
A noble friend, through thick and thin,
I wait for you, to love again.
So here I sit, with hope's faint glow,
A faithful friend, despite the woe.
For in my heart, I still believe,
In a forever home, I will receive.
