This is the Official Page for the UTSC Women's and Trans Centre. Whether you are faculty, staff, students, or alumni — our doors are always open to you!
The UTSC Womens & Trans Centre is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to making a more inclusive and joyful campus for all self identified q***r, racialized, trans and/or non-binary folks, women, femmes, and any and all intersections of the above identities. We host a variety of programming throughout the year, offer resources and referrals, and are committed to creating an open, safe, and anti-oppressive place for folks.
Transgender Awareness Week is observed annually and aims to increase awareness, visibility and knowledge of trans people, and the issues faced by members of trans communities. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the lives of two-spirit, trans, nonbinary and gender non-conforming people and the contributions they have made and continue to make.
On November 14, join the UTSC community in an arts- and reflection-based event and to craft messages of support for Trans Awareness Week. From hardship to empowerment, from trauma to healing, from dysphoria to euphoria - we will explore these themes together and craft messages of solidarity, celebration, and reflection to be used in the Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil, held Nov. 18 at UTSC.
When: Monday, November 14, 3:00-4:30pm
Where: HW 305 (Humanities Wing, third floor, UofT Scarborough)
Who: Everyone who is respectful of the intent of this inclusive and welcoming space is invited to attend.
