The city of Barcelona has announced it will ban apartment rentals (such as Airbnb) to tourists by NOV 28 in an effort to address housing affordability costs for locals.

As one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, Spain relies on the economic benefits these foreign dollars bring in, but it has resulted in a disturbing difference in the living accommodations of the local resident and the arguably richer visiting tourist.

Barcelona hotels have been living with the impact of a ban which was in place from 2015 to 2023, which restricted new hotel openings in some of the city’s most popular areas. It is thought that the city’s mayor Jaume Collboni will re-evaluate those restrictions because of this latest policy change, potentially resulting in new hotel builds.

Was reminiscing on my time in Australia.

Mona and I flew via Vancouver where our flight was cancelled and made us miss the Sydney stop of the Future Music Festival but after a few days in Sydney, we traveled to Perth and caught it there.

With the upcoming busy season for travel approaching, this is good information to have!
If you have an airline cancel or delay your flight(s) you might be eligible for compensation.
Compensation depends on if the reason for the delay is within the airline’s control, with the winter weather approaching airlines may use the weather as an excuse as to not to provide compensation, this is why it’s important to get a clear understanding of the reason for your delay or cancellation. Are other airline’s flying in the same weather? Was it a staffing issue of availability?
