Having a blast leading the kids at Horizons inter-school tutoring and mentoring program how to print their own shirts. It was everyone’s first time to ever see the process and physically screen print. I am sure we will see many DIY future school club shirts.

One of the great things about tie dyeing with our G&S DYE Liquid Colours is that it has VERY little water usage compared to traditional tie dyeing with MX Reactive Dyes.

Once you skirt Liquid Colours and it dries onto the shirt, it just needs a heat set and is colour stable. No endless rinsing as you do with MX Reactive Dyes.

After an eternity testing new raw ingredients, we finally have a Waterbed Resist that has some potential. We currently have about 12-15 BETA test samples to hand out. Given the cost of shipping, you can request a free BETA test to throw into an existing order if you wish to help try it out. You will get two samples (thick and thin).

After 30 plus years running our Toronto Dundas Street West store, we’ve decided to close this location at the end of our lease. The last day for retail operations here will be December 22, 2022.

The past three years have only accelerated our transition to be solely reliant on mail order and online ordering. As a consumer and a business, I’m fully aware of the value of in person shopping, customer service and access to knowledgeable help. The reality is that the cost of doing our business with our competitors, makes keeping a retail operation challenging in the best of times.

Our transition to online started well before the pandemic but we got to test our post retail plans under fire the past few years. We have been a Retail Partner with Penguin PickUp for convenient GTA pick up at over 20 locations during this time. All at no cost to our customers. It’s just another pick up option at any of the participating locations, saving our customers valuable travel time and parking expense.

We expect to be completely up and running at our Markham warehouse in the Spring of 2023 and have a showroom similar to what we have at the Toronto store for the past 30 years. We can again welcome customers for in person help. Our downtown customers have had 30 years of in person convenience, it’s time our northern friends and customers get some easier access for the next 30 years.

It’s not a “good-bye” but it has been a very long run at trying to help our customers in person day-in and day-out. Retail has changed and so must our business.
