Take a tour of our home 🏠💫 Stella's Place at 54 Wolseley Street is a space where we welcome 16-29 year olds in Toronto to feel safe, be heard, and connect with those who share similar experiences. #stellasplace #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #toronto
Stella was a typical 17 year old teen - enjoying music, sports, friends and school. Everything was going well... until it wasn't. Stella's mom, Donna, sought private mental health treament for Stella in the USA after they couldn't find adequate help in Canada. Knowing Stella wasn't the only one struggling, Donna made it her life's mission to get young Canadians the help they deserve. And so she founded Stella's Place. #StellasPlace #MentalHealth #MentalHealthMatters #Toronto #YouthMentalHealth #EndTheStigma #MentalWellness #MentalHealthAwareness #SupportingTeens #CanadianYouth
What makes Stella's Place different and impactful? We design our programming around three core principles: 🙋♂️ Peer Support - young adults can get guidance and coaching from those who have been there. 👭 Co-Design - young adults serve as partners who design, deliver and evaluate our programs. 💲 Low-Barrier - our services are free of charge, with many drop-in services accessible the same day. #stellasplace #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #toronto #peersupport #codesign #mentalhealthsupport #youthempowerment #mentalwellness #mentalhealthawareness
Last week, @citynewsto dropped by before we opened for the day to highlight the work that we’re doing in our local neighbourhood and beyond, just in time for #MentalHealthWeek! We spoke to them about our new space co-designed with young adults, the exciting new programs we’re offering, and how we connect young adults who come through our doors to support. We also shared our vision for a world where mental health challenges are destigmatized and resources and support are readily available for young adults who need them. Check out the video here, and visit our website to learn more about the programs we offer here at Stella’s Place. Our cafe is also open from Monday to Thursday, 1-5 pm, so you can drop in and say hello! #MentalHealthWeek #TorontoMentalHealth #YoungAdultMentalHealth #Counselling #PeerSupport #TorontoYouthSupport #DropInServices #MentalHealth #StellasPlace
