Congratulations to all this year’s winners - it was a fun event to celebrate the accomplishments of our neighbours.

Marsha stopped by for a visit and we got to see her new scarf knitted using Ella Rae Yarns Marmel. The cotton blend is ideal for a light summer scarf and Marsha had the perfect colour tee to showcase her colourway.

There are so many options for a one skein project with this soft cotton yarn that can be worn year round.

Back to School is approaching fast and at SMAY we are looking forward to our classes resuming as well!

In addition to Robbie teaching on Saturday mornings, there are Lunch and Learn Techniques for lace, cable and mosaic that I will be teaching, for those who are looking to upgrade their knitting know how.

Of the three designs using the Mobius cast on technique, this is the most accessible with its rhythmic basket weave pattern and elegant icord cast off.

Loving the joy and pride showing in Ariel’s face when she modelled her latest FO for us 🤩

Knitted with Alley Cat Yarns silk yak, the drape is delightful and Ariel’s colourwork is beautifully knitted.

From knitting her first dishcloth just a few short months ago, Ariel has challenged herself with learning something in every projects. Socks? Piece of cake! Lace work? Too easy! Garments? This is her second one! Colourwork? Nailed it 👏👏👏

Next up? A lace mohair sweater - and we are sure she’ll be modeling it for us in no time!

My second design using the Möbius technique, this addictive cowl is a delight to knit and the bright splash of colours bring joy 🌈

Marsha popped by this week to check out the yarns from Li'l Red KettleHead before they leave the store this weekend.

From a prior trunk show, Marsha had knitted an Antarktis shawl - a pattern designed by Woolenberry and available on Ravelry - and she kindly shared her FO photos with us.

Knitted using Fine foot BFL in the colour Harry, this one skein shawl will pair perfectly to dress up an outfit or wear casually with jeans 😍

Slightly delayed due to technical difficulties … but wanted to send a shout out to the SMAY crafters who joined our SMAY Day at the Dome and came out to watch the Toronto Blue Jays play Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

There were many rows knitted; many Loonie hot dogs consumed; we had door prizes and Lambert got to meet some new friends who were also there to celebrate Loonie Dog Tuesday!
