On Thursday, our Founder and President, Diane Dupuy C.M. was invited as a guest speaker to the Urban Economy Forum held at York University.

With Famous PEOPLE Players as an internationally acclaimed performance troupe that has been around for the last 50 years, Diane was asked to deliver a speech regarding her insights and experience on successfully integrating sustainable tourism and community empowerment into FPP. She also talked about the role of education, and how crucial it is for cultivating the future generation of leaders and entrepreneurs.

(In fact, they loved her speech so much that they bought all her books!)

Last Friday, FPP attended the Canadian Italian Business & Professional Association of Toronto (CIBPA) Gala that took place at the Fairmont Royal York hotel. What an event! Everything was fantastic – the food, the music, the wine and most importantly, the people.

FPP would like to extend our deepest congratulations and heartfelt appreciation to all the people that made this event possible! It was heartening to see the Canadian-Italian community come together and celebrate the achievements of its members. As members ourselves, we are honoured and proud.

Years ago, FPP’s production of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice was part of the re-opening of Radio City Music Hall in 1980. Our performance earned such rave reviews that it eventually led to us starring on Broadway TWICE in 1984 and 1986!

Meet Mattea!

She gives me hope for the future of high school students. She is genuine, kind, honest and with a great sense of humour as well.

When she came for the interview as a co-op student, she spoke of her troubles fitting in and making friends at school. But did you know what she said that made me love her right away?

“I can fit in here.”

Mattea was hired immediately after she graduated high school.

She is a natural ace in our hospitality department; she never takes anything personally and aims to please others to the best of her abilities. She makes our dining room sparkle with her constant smile and positive attitude. She is now mastering the Arts Administration department, and embracing her computer skills (that she’s now teaching me!).

Mattea, I am so proud of you. When she comes for a company bow at the end of the show, I shed a tear. I love her, and you will too.
