Today Montessori Smile celebrates and pays respect to the visionary who taught love and respect for the child. August 31 1870.

Students learn the concepts of days, months, years, weather, holidays, birthdays, seasons, and special events by using a calendar. It can also introduce intellectual skills and helps develop learning habits. It promotes communication, reasoning, and logical thinking.

Calendars are an essential part of Montessori learning. Students learn how to plan and understand how time progresses. We have our class wall calendar as well as this hands manipulative they can touch and explore by themselves.

Our reading corner is beautiful 🌸 and inviting. It makes you want to curl up with Croia and enjoy a book.📕 🕯️

A strong community gives our students access to new experiences and opportunities, which broaden their horizons and builds self confidence. Today we welcomed James from to talk about his bakery and read “If you give a mouse a cookie”. I am not sure what we enjoyed more, James’s animated story telling or the delicious cookies 🍪 to go with the story 📖.

“Look a bean”. Our garden has been a wealth of lessons this summer. We learned the growth cycle of plants, the patience and perseverance after seeding, the responsibility of daily watering/weeding and even how to deal with the disappointment of a few crops not growing as expected. 🤷‍♂️ Our cucumbers didn’t sprout.

Montessori Smile was buzzing with excitement as Brandon Police officers paid us a visit! 🚓👮 The students enjoyed listening to stories and got an up close look at the police car and even sound the siren 🚨. It was a day full of fun, discovery, and lots of happy faces!

**** Update*** We have only 2 spaces left in our Piccola Casa ( toddler room) and 3 spaces in our Casa dei Bambini ( preschool room) .Message for a tour and intake meeting today if you are wanting a September start.

A huge thank you to Paige/Aleksanders dad Chris for visiting this week. Chris did 2 experiments with us. We made small particles levitate with sound using an acoustic levitator. We also made elephant toothpaste with hydrogen peroxide, potassium iodide and dish soap.

Our fun summer program continues. Thank you to Brandon Fire Hall 🔥, the Andrews Family 💦 and Forbidden Flavours 🍦.

Thank you to the Office of the Fire Commissioner for visiting with the adorable search and rescue dogs.🐶 Today we learned that some animals are pets but some have jobs .

Our first Walking Wednesday of the summer was a success. We walked to the Shoppers Mall and enjoyed a delightful story time . Thank you to Ivan’s parents at Sizzling Wok for the yummy cookie treats to fuel us for our walk back to school. A special thank you as well to for volunteering to parent chaperone.

Our students were excited to come back to school and see how much our garden grew over the break. 🥕 🥦

We introduced different land and water forms through a delightful story of friends traveling the world! 🌎 We explored the island and the lake, the peninsula and the gulf, the isthmus and the strait, finally the cape and the bay. 🌊⛰️

Orphanage | St Cecilia Mother of Hope Foundation | Zambia, Africa Located in the Zambia, Africa, St. Cecilia is an orphanage that is home to over 40 children. We are looking to raise funds for this charity.

Montessori Smile updated their business hours.

Montessori Smile is a new Montessori Preschool opening in Brandon MB. We are currently looking for 3 ECE’s as Montessori Teachers. Criminal record check and updated first aid required. Having your Montessori certificate is not required however a plus. You will report to the Director of the facility and be following all Montessori curriculum.

This position will pay above market average ECE roles and benefits are included. We are looking for individuals with strong natural abilities to communicate with children and see things from their eyes.
