🐺 This one, or two, came a really long way. After (maybe 50-60?) hours of work over the past two weeks, fixing in the screw eyes is what's left (commissioned; not available for purchase). - It has been a week since I last shared content. I had in fact deleted my Instagram and Facebook apps to reset and rethink a few things. Happy to be back now. - At some point last week, it hit me that I was getting too absorbed into my NWL accounts on media platforms, especially Instagram. Always having an eye on what other carvers are up to, the stats and insights, and the studying I'm doing to learn about marketing got me, without realizing, into sort of a race mode that I didn't sign up for. - I found myself in an obligation to strive to share content at least once a day and do what some other people are doing and recommending in order to get my content seen by folks who follow my page and those who don't. It made me unhappy. Very quickly. - Early on, I was fully aware of what I'm getting myself into, and one thing I had set for myself is to not get over-occupied with content creation, and post only when I have some value to add or news to share. - That's what I found myself drifting away from. If you've read my "about" on my website, you know that of the things I like about traditional wood carving is how it forces one to slow down. What made me unhappy is the contradiction that the "necessary" daily content creation was adding to my process and progress. - Deep inside, I genuinely know that I don't actually care about no algorithm or number of page followers. It just doesn't matter. I had to remind myself of that this past week. I will share content, relevant to my niche when I am able to, want to, and most importantly, when I feel like it. - I've been having a blast with you, the current, slowly growing, Lab fam. Plus loving building this personal connection with people (including through personalized carvings) even at such an early stage of my startup. #Ottawa #cana

Satisfying. Every time! This little mushroom is all done now, I'll post about it later! Maple wood is pretty darn hard. For carving that can be good and bad. Took a break from carving yesterday but back on a few things today.
