My passion is in helping dentists, healthcare professionals and anyone who wants to live healthier and happier to find coping skills and a way of living through mindfulness.
Get comfy with being uncomfy! The true catalyst for change comes from the ability to stay with discomfort, enough to see it, feel it and only then will the meaningful changes you seek come. It’s too easy to live in a distracted world and to run away from our challenges. ❤️💕❤️💕
Honored to be speaking on leadership to Women In Dentistry. 🥰❤️
Happiness and contentment comes from a constant adjustment to our surroundings.🤗 we can keep waiting for our surroundings to change to gain peace and be less stressed, or less anxious but true change comes from the inside out. 🥰😘
The secret to peace and contentment is a constant adjustment to our surroundings ☺️ Change happens from the inside out.
Define “normal”…we all seem to be desperate to get back to normal…ya’ll I don’t remember pre pandemic life being blissful, happy, stress free. I was doing stress and anxiety talks then too!!!! Let’s make a new normal, one that includes some quiet time, calm and peace. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
So hard to do! Try not to let the past affect how you feel now. 🥰♥️
The habits you created to survive May no longer help you when it’s time to thrive. Look at old habits closely and choose those that are helpful to you now!!! Discard those that drag you down! 🤔😍
Heard this and needed to share: Saying no is so hard. Remember though, every time you say no to something you’re really making room to say yes to something else…maybe something more meaningful. ❤️☺️ so say this to yourself: “I can say no to….so I can say yes to….”. 🥰🤗🌻
Happiness is an active process not a passive one. We have to choose to be happy and have the intention to make it a priority.
If you’re anything like me September brings up a lot of anxiety and stress. 😬😫It’s such an important time to remember that self-care is not selfish! ❤️🥰 fill your bucket because you can’t give from an empty bucket. Practicing gratitude also improves stress and anxiety. Write one word in the comments about something you are grateful for ☺️😌😌😌
Research suggests that it is the micro changes we make every day that lead to the biggest change in for stress and anxiety 🤔🧐. My micro change is to commit to meditation even if it’s for 5 minutes every morning! 🌸🌺🙏🏼
“Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for”! 🤗🙏🏼💕 A reminder to be grateful for what we have instead of always desiring something more or something different! 😍🤗

Are you obsessed with thinking? I am!!! I try and think myself through everything, every scenario, every situation. Sometimes I exhaust myself from overthinking 😩😩. The practice here is to give yourself 10 minutes every day to not think. That alone practiced over three months will rewire your brain!!!!👍🙂
Fun fact: 80% of the things we worry about actually never happens. And the 20%, we usually handle it much better than we think and it’s never as bad as we thought.
Looking forward to chatting with Dr. John O'Keefe on Thursday. When we are overwhelmed, frustrated, tired or in a crisis, we often feel the need to make changes. But, is this the right time to do so?
You know what you should do when you’re in a funk? 😫Absolutely nothing. 😃 As tempting as it is to analyze our life when we’re not in a good headspace it is the wrong time to do it. When we want to make decisions we want to be in a non-triggered space and using our prefrontal cortex. 😌😌 If were using our primitive, limbic brain we will never make the right decision because it will be based on fear.
Happy Wednesday!!!! These are challenging times to be a dentist that’s for sure.
Just as periodontal disease has acute and chronic phases...so does the pandemic! We dealt with the acute, survival phase and now we’re in the chronic phase....long days, seems never ending, needs reevaluation and maintenance (just like periodontitis!). So please take care to re-evaluate and check in, see what you need, get external help and resources if you need it.
I spent 2020 waiting....waiting for the numbers to go down, waiting for the pandemic to end...in a holding pattern. But, in all this time, my life was still going on, in the background, my kids both celebrated birthdays, my practice continued, the earth kept spinning, but I kept waiting. The hope for 2021 is that I stop waiting and look at my life during this pandemic as still worthy of enjoying and living!!!
As I prepare to present to women worldwide about mindful leader ship, I wanted to show you the other perspective. Most of us work very hard to make things look smooth!!! Behind the scenes.
So proud to have been asked to be part of this amazing panel of incredible women for the Global Virtual Conference.
Proud of WID and Dr. Effie Habsha for collaborating on what is sure to be a wonderful global meeting.

Trying to practice some of what I preach which is to take a breath and ground myself and drop the perfectionist tendencies. Excited to be presenting to the largest study club in Canada and the second largest study club in North America.♥️🙌🥰🤗🙏🏼
Do you want an answer to a question or a decision you’re trying to make or what your next step should be? Do you know who you should ask? YOUR FUTURE SELF. we are always looking externally for answers but sometimes the best answers come from within ourselves. Put yourself 10 years from now imagine what you’re wearing, what you’re doing what your day-to-day looks like and ask that person what they would do in your dilemma! That’s gonna be your answer.
Our biggest stressor in dentistry is uncertainty. Will we be shut down again? for how long? will I get sick in the office doing aerosol generating procedures? will my staffing issues settle?
So many questions!
It is NORMAL that we are worried, but it is exhausting. The key is to recognize what is a solvable worry and what is an unsolvable worry. Create "worry time" to tackle your worries. Be kind to yourself and surround yourself with people and resources that will help you and NOT HINDER YOU. Ain't nobody got time for that!
Looking for everyday small pleasures is one way I’m trying to manage the pandemic. It ain’t easy but it’s necessary!!
It’s ok to not be ok!!! 😌After a week of insomnia 🥱🥱wondering when and if I’ll ever sleep properly again...the worst part was the worry that I’m not ok. The lack of sleep actually didn’t change anything...I was a bit tired but I still exercised, laughed, saw patients, yelled at the kids (the usual!). The worst part was that I wasn’t ok with not being 💯. So the message is....it’s ok to not be ok. When we drop the expectation of wanting our life to be perfect, we’ll actually realize that we’re ok! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
If you’re exhausted from worrying about your office, the uncertainty of what will happen with increasing case numbers and chronic anxiety you...YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We’re in this together.
Many of us never pay attention to the idea of seeing what affect our emotions and moods have on the people around us. Most of us are usually completely unaware and not sensitive to this. Taking time to pay attention to the effect of our emotions on others is truly a selfless act. Try it....see what happens. 🥰♥️🤗
