Woods Miller Tree Works
Woods Miller Tree Works provides a variety of tree services
A couple of trees removed on this job; one very decayed poplar leaning over a shed with fences all around, another poplar with a dead top. A tight area it was, things had to be precise.
A long day of storm cleanup at our clients property. They recently had a mini tornado rip through their yard off of Lake Superior
Clearing out the hydro line on our clients property, lots of cutting and lots of cleanup
A full day of tree pruning, 3 trees pruned at our first stop then 6 trees pruned at the neighbours. It was a beautiful day; the heat was the challenge; hydration was essential
We got to see some old friends this morning and help them get this big old Poplar down; it was time
This job was all about removals. The homeowners recently had a close call with storm damaged trees and were looking to clear the larger trees away that were in close proximity to their home.
We had a nice couple days on this job here for our clients; beautiful spot on Lake Superior. We had a handful of trees to remove and we had some cleanup pruning to do on a number of trees also. Everything tidied up nice and our clients were happy with our service, can’t ask for more! 🌲🌳👍
We recently finished up work on this Manitoba Maple for some dear friends of ours. Over the last year the tree started to develop a crack in the lower trunk area, at one of the unions. Our friends expressed their desire to hopefully keep the tree, for numerous reasons, if possible. After assessing the tree it was apparent that if this tree was to remain in this location, and safely intact, a support system should be installed; combined with a bit of pruning, to reduce structural weight on a few of the main stems, particularly stems that were leaning out over the neighbours roof and driveway. Trees are, for the most part very strong and resilient and support systems are not always necessary; however, there are many factors involved in determining if additional support is necessary and sometimes these support measures can be the difference between keeping a tree or having to remove it.
We recently felled 3 White Spruce trees at our local township garage; 2 of the 3 trees had significant decay setting in at the base so it was best to get these down sooner than later. This is a short video of one of the trees being removed. We are an experienced, professional and insured tree service, serving Thunder Bay, Ontario and the Thunder Bay district rural communities. Let’s chat about your trees, contact us for a free estimate 👋🌲🌳
This job involved the removal of three trees on our clients property. These mature trees had grown to be a concern for our client. Any job that I do I always assess the overall health of the tree and any potential risks that the tree may impose to the homeowner, their property or the general public. As a professional tree worker I always voice my opinion on the what I see, whether asked to or not. I believe in tree preservation as much as possible and will always advocate for it provided that I see that the tree is in overall good health and does not likely pose any significant risks. At the end of the day, I respect the homeowners decision to remove trees that may cause them to feel stress or worry; ultimately people want to feel safe in their homes.
We cleaned up two mature Crab Apple trees today for our client; thinned out the usual suspects, any dead, diseased, broken branches and water sprouts. We finished the trees off with a slight reduction/shaping of the outer crowns. Another beautiful day pruning fruit trees 🍎❤️
It’s that time of year, personally my favourite time of the year for tree work; fruit tree pruning
Our client got lucky on this one, two trees uprooted and blew over onto their cabin; no damage to the cabin but the water tower will need to be fixed up a little bit
It was all removals on this job. A handful of twisted up Manitoba Maples leaning over various structures, a Trembling Aspen in process of eventual deterioration and failure; and one small White spruce. The 5 trees removed along the back definitely opened up the view!
This was a fun job; cleaning up this veteran White Spruce. A big ol’ country girl she is, standing out there on her own; a beautiful tree
Todays work was to clear the hydro line at our clients property. This line was certainly due/overdue to be cleared. We got it cleared up and our client was happy to check it off the “to do” list.
We recently removed this, King Crimson Maple tree. Although this tree still looked good from a far and still had lots of lush foliage, it was steadily in decline from the bottom up. Looking at the foliage of this tree you would hardly guess that it was struggling; but one look at the base of the tree and you have another story. Like any other living species, this tree would battle to the end, but for public safety’s sake, the homeowner made the right call to remove this tree before an inevitable structural failure
We finished up this White Spruce removal a couple of days ago; what a beautiful fall day it was. This tree had it all, it had been excessively pruned by a neighbour in the past, it had a bit of a twisted up spiral banana shape to it; it had signs of “sun scald” (due to excessive pruning and trunk exposure); underneath the tree it had: hydro, cable & internet lines; a fence; the neighbours garage and a gazebo; I think that’s it! 😅 The tree was in good health but the homeowner had concerns of it falling on the neighbours garage; I totally understand that. It did lean over the neighbours garage a fair amount and it was drastically disfigured by past pruning cuts so the homeowner was ready to remove the tree.
A recent White Spruce tree removal, there were a few obstacles to avoid; hydro & cable line, house, deck & septic. An older tree, with subtle signs of decay starting to set in, it was time to get this tree down.
A recent White Spruce removal, the homeowners were sad to see it go but it was growing into the house and had become a hazard concern due to its size, age and close proximity.
Hi folks, this video is a walk through of a recent tree removal we did. Every situation is different and no two tree jobs are ever the same. There are many different variables in each setting, each tree and each approach that you take to, ultimately, get the job done for your client in a safe and professional manner 🌲🌳😉
We had a great time out at the 2023 Hymers Fall Fair. We met a lot of great people and connected with a bunch of friends and family throughout the event! 👏❤️👋🌳🌲
We finished up this Jack Pine tree removal today. The tree was still alive but it was definitely in a declining state; lots of dead twisted limbs and at the age where it’s overall health and appearance are most likely not going to be improving. This was a full removal, including stump grinding; and, finished off with soil & seed.
We recently finished up this job on another lovely rural property. We removed a number of dead standing trees, and a few dead branches of concern.
This job involved removing two Birch trees next to our client’s house. One of the trees was heavily decayed and “dead standing” for many years. I always urge homeowners to be proactive with potentially hazardous trees around common areas and high traffic areas of their property. For the safety of your family, friends, and the tree workers, please do not let your trees reach the point of excessive decay. Sometimes your tree can look “a bit off”, or, it’s clearly dead because there are “no leaves/needles on it in summer time”; at this point I urge you to get it checked out sooner than later… Don’t be shy, call a few different tree care workers if you like, get some input and insight into the best options and necessary steps to take. 😉🌳🌲
The Woods Miller’s; it’s a team effort!!
This job involved thinning a long section of Manitoba Maples along our clients fence line. The trees were crowding out the back yard from the house all the way to the back of the property. Working in tight quarters and a sensitive area we had to rig the larger tree stems with rope and lower them to the ground. Results from the job were: a rejuvenating feel to the back yard, more light and air flow; and another happy client 😉🫡🌳😊🦋🕊️
This video is a basic walk through of the general foundation and concepts of pruning a tree; we are working on our clients well established Silver Maple 🌳❤️
A couple of trees were removed on this job. They were in close proximity to the house and our client was concerned of potential hazards that could arise if the trees were to fail at some point.
The last tree down for this job, Spruce tree #3.
