How taking a pause to recharge and then celebrate has fueled my mission. The summer cold was defintely a disruption, which casued me to slow down and rest so that I could celebrate with our guests. My voice returned just in time for our party - new home, milestone birthday, and 30th wedding anniversary. The entire process of resting, reflecting, and then celebrating has given me the boost in energy. Now, I’m back at it - helping other couples to co create and achieve whatever it is that they decide is important. What does that look like? 1) Being the 911 call they make when they are struggling with the challeges of working with ones spouse. 2) Helping them get clear about exactly what the co created picture is for their future 3) Celebrating their progress along the way. Hosting Executive roundtables is one way I am experimenting and reinventing some of my previous business strategies in my current business. Judging by the thank you messages and the connections being made after the session I hosted yesterday, seems this is a “do it again” because not only did it bring value to my guests, I loved doing it! Many business owners get caught up in disappointment and judging themselves or their teams too hardly when things dont go exactly as planned. Especially when it comes to financial results. The wrong approach to planning in the finance area of a business can lead to stress, harsh judgement, and decisions which can bear a much bigger cost in the long run. I made this mistake in my insurance brokerage ownership days. As an example, forecasting revenues too high, which led to spending in areas that should have been deferred because I thought the money would be there. When the money didnt hit the accounts as quickly as planned, my stress level went up. I was running at 3 out of 10 instead of my usual 15 out of 10. When the owner of a business is stressed, everyone feels it. Distractions, deferral of important projects, speculating can all occur, slowing down the momentum even more.
