By using infrared cameras 📸we can create images of how the vasculature in the chest (and other areas) responds to a cold challenge.
Healthy vasculature🩸 (blood vessels) responds by constricting and cooling🆒. Abnormal vessels will not. This is all nicely mapped out in an infrared image so we can see what areas are responding well and others that may not be. This individual is Sebastian Kneipp. He was a Priest and early innovator on hydrotherapy techniques. He was one of the reasons hydrotherapy became popular as people from thousands of miles away could come visit. His principles have been weaved into what we now call modern naturopathic medicine. Unfortunately, hydrotherapy is being lost to trendier therapies with less antiquity and stamina.
His principles which you won’t hear from internet gurus include:
💧 Never completed more than 3 minutes cold
💧Always started by having the body warm
💧Ended by dressing in natural fabrics and not drying off
💧Combined hydrotherapy with brisk walking after
💧Barefoot walking (especially in the morning and winter!)
💧Never worked against the body’s intelligence / impulse

This is a way of eating that allows you to learn to deeply nourish yourself while building skills to discern what may just be a craving and not a cue towards nourishment.
Intuitive eating fosters confidence building and creates the conditions for a healthful relationship with food.
Here are 5 questions to consider when choosing a meal:
1) Where are you in your cycle (if you menstruate)?
2) What season is it?
3) What season of life are you in?
4) Where are you located/what is available?
5) What did your ancestors eat?
One of the most challenging aspects of healing is the commitment needed to create change.
Change can be intimidating. Here's some ideas to help a long the way:
✅Get an accountability buddy who is also on a healing journey too, and schedule regular check-in's. Nothing too serious, just a time to connect and share. Quick, often and avoiding advice giving can feel really supportive and sustainable.
✅Choose S-M-A-R-T goals (google for more info) so you can get some lived experience of success. Setting super lofty and unrealistic goals is a common way for self-sabotage to sneak in.
✅Be honest with your care providers and people in your network. Where are you really at? People-pleasing (fawning) is a common strategy when stressed. Your care providers are genuinely invested in your healing, it's okay to be straight up with us!
✅Keep it simple. Some people have the tendency to put too much on their plate, even if it is a lot of the "good stuff". Try refining goals so you are just trying to make progress in one or two synergistic areas. Too much too quick = overwhelm.
✅Choose to build your skillset when things don't go as planned. "Failing", "mistakes", "blowing it"... that's all part of the journey. Learning to be present with the sensations and experiences of these so called "bad" behaviours is a key🔑 to unlock the door to where you want to go. Foundational nervous system stuff is great here, like our friend and colleague
