Hello everyone !! Exciting news!! I am hosting a Pampered Chef Party for Quinte West Lost Paws. Yes you heard me….a Pampered Chef Party for Lost Paws.
For the month of August Pampered Chef is offering Double Donations to our organization. The difference for this party is I don’t earn free products, instead, I earn Double Donation Dollars for Lost Paws !!
If you are not a Pampered Chef person please do me a favour and share, share and share!!
Let’s get this party started!! 🎉🎉🎉
💔💔🌈🌈After messaging with a few ladies in Stirling to see if they recognized the dog they were pretty certain it was “Arthur” the roaming black dog. The collar was the same as well.
If anyone sees a black dog roaming in Stirling again please reach out to us immediately just in case this dog wasn’t him.
RIP You are no longer in pain and you can run free without fear. 💔💔🌈🌈
RAINBOW BRIDGE Aug 15 Cannifton ON
Later last night animal control let me know they picked up a severely injured dog in Cannifton. Sadly the injuries were too much and a vet was called in to euthanize him. 😪
The dog was on the medium side, male, pure black and shaggy. Wearing a red collar. It was apparent he was hit by a car, probably a few days ago. This dog is far too small to be Owen, short stature. It is possible it was the one wandering near Stirling, very similar based on a photo and same colour collar. That dog has not been seen there recently.
The body will stay at Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward for a minimum of 5 days. Call 613 968 4673 if you think this is your dog. We do have a photo, it is not graphic.
I would like to thank ACO Jenny for picking him up and keeping him comfortable at the shelter until Dr Singh could arrive for the exam and compassionate euthanasia. We are very lucky to have both of them in our community ❤️
💔💔It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we tell you he has been found but he did not make it. 🌈🌈
💕Please send a hug to the owners as they grieve. 💞
Rest easy now, you are free little one

❤️❤️YOU ARE SAFE NOW FRANKIE❤️❤️
(We named her Frankie as we were never told her name)
This dog has been on her own in Frankford for over 2 1/2 months. There was an original posting about her missing but we heard nothing further shortly thereafter so we thought the dog was home.
How wrong we were. Animal Control called us to say she was still on the loose and they couldn’t corral her but let us know where she was hanging out.
We reached out to that homeowner and found out they had been feeding and giving her water but she would run if they got too close.
We started feeding her to condition her to a spot where we would be setting our large trap. Once she ate there we started building parts of the trap for a few days. She was not phased by the commotion and even joined us to watch as we built it. She would lay down and watch us and wait for the next treat to be thrown.
This behaviour allowed us to push forward with building the trap without the top and leaving the door open. She wandered in the trap while we were still there. So the next day we put the top on and had everything ready for today.
We got the food and water ready and we were getting in our cars to wait for her to come. 25 seconds later……….with no hesitation at all she was in and caught!! 💞💞💞
It took some time to get her to relax a bit in the trap but she started to take some hot dog then we knew we could work on getting the slip leads on her. A little awkward to do through the top of the trap but eventually we got two on her and a regular leash for the collar she had on.
As you will see in the pictures we don’t risk anything. 3 leashes attached and 3 different people holding. She was an angel and jumped in the SUV without an issue. During transport she was a dream. Laid down for a bit and also interacted with us.
She was transported to the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward and we left her during her intake. Great to see her safe finally.
Not a mean bone in her body. Took rubs and pets. A bit skittish but to be expected being on her own for so long right after being rehomed so she had no time to settle in before she bolted.
She will need time to adjust if she goes to a new home. New rescues or adoptions need time, patience and love. It could take months for them to integrate into your family so please, if you don’t have the time to put in the work to make a dog feel at home (slowly or at their pace) think twice about it. They also need to be leashed at all times.

❤️❤️IN FROM THE HEAT AND GOING HOME SOON❤️❤️
DIOR, a now 11 month old, German shepherd escaped while Mom was visiting in Belleville. The first few frantic hours were searching and calling out to her which could have caused her to book it a fair distance away.
No sightings then, boom, a couple up near Tuckers Corner, Wallbridge Loyalist Rd and Vermilyea Rd. From there she disappeared again. Another week goes by with nothing then we were texted with a sighting of her crossing Hwy 62 near Vermilyea Rd. We then received day a message with a video of her from someone’s security camera.
We set up cameras and a feeding station. We got her on camera 2 nights in a row to the same spot so it was time to deploy the trap. She did not show up that evening. Sigh. Has she moved again?
She had been out on her own for 3.5 weeks at this time so it stood to reason that she would see the trap as an invasion in her new feeding spot. We put more food out the next night and she showed up!! We did not have it set at this point, just open so we could get her used to the trap. She not only got used to it she layed down and ate. The towel in the trap may have been softer than what she had been sleeping on.
Time for a trap watch. We set them up for a watch until the wee ours of the morning as her 2 fave times to appear were 10:30pm and 2:30am. Two different shifts and the homeowner was on standby and was watching her security cam to let us know when she was close.
Guess what??? She didn’t show up !! We knew she was still in the area as a follower that assists us from time to time called to let us know she had been seen twice at Precision Motors the next day. So we do it all again the next night but due to it being a Monday people had to work the next day we did one shift for 9-12.
A volunteer on watch saw Dior come into the area but go behind the house. She was being super cautious. They kept seeing a sensor light go on so we knew she was still around. They put their seats laying down so she couldn’t see them, she could smell them for sure but that didn’t seem to phase her at this point.
Shortly before the trap watch was over we see Dior at the trap mouth. The next picture on the camera is the door closed and her just laying there in the trap. Next picture is the volunteers near the trap. Yayayayayayayay!!!!!!
She was calm the entire time. We could tell she was stressed but she was not trying to escape. The trap with her in it was loaded into a volunteer’s SUV and she was taken to a friend of the owner’s to decompress as she waits for a ride to Ottawa where the owner is from.
She has lost some weight but otherwise is in good condition and good spirits.
I cannot thank those that reached out to us with sightings enough. We cannot do this without those messages.
Kelly is a friend that came forward to assist with searching and volunteered for the midnight to 3am watch. This helped out immensely as it was a work night and she had the following day off.
Laura, the homeowner that Dior chose to hang out at, was an integral part of this secure. She allowed us to invade her yard. She did restocking of food. Liaised with volunteers to find the best spot for trapping and helped set up. She was there with whatever we needed. (She will be joining our team as a volunteer!! )
Last but not the least, our team of volunteers who jumped in to get cameras up, food and scent trails out and then standing watches. This takes them away from their families, they lose sleep when when we do late/early watches. Time is valuable and these volunteers give it up to help get these poor pups get home.

ROAMING JUNE NAPANEE
Many in Napanee will recognize this pup from postings. We have been engaged with the owner of a business in the Industrial Park to assist with a feeding station.
Unfortunately a colony of cats and some raccoons keep getting the food before the dog.
❗️❗️What we need is if someone has this dog roaming their yard, their business or a field please reach out to the page as we would like to talk to you about working with us to secure this dog. What this means is engaging with our volunteer, setting a feeding station (we will supply food if needed) having cell cameras on your property and then possibly a trap.
When you message the page please make sure you mention which post you are writing about.
You can also text 613-847-4277 or message the page with sightings.

DROOBLES AND LITTLE GIRL UPDATE
Sorry about taking so long to update but we had nothing to update.
We got a message and phone call that one of them was on a property on Hwy 62 near Cleveland Rd. The ID was positive for one of the two but the picture was far enough away that we can’t quite tell.
It doesn’t matter who it is as we now have a trail to follow again !!
If you live along that stretch of Hwy 62 or Cleveland Rd, Stoney Settlement Rd and Old Hastings Rd please keep an eye out. Check your trail cameras, security cameras and door cams.
We will not be giving up on these two but we need local assistance with sightings. Grab a picture if you can. It will help us greatly as they have totally different personalities and how we deal with them will be different.

WOW, WE ARE OVERWHELMED !!!!
I cannot express how much this means to us. It isn’t just the money but the support the community, friends, family and followers have shown us.
We were relentless asking for votes. Our lead volunteer’s mug out there every day for a week. (She was super happy about that part 🤣🤣) The shares and the words of encouragement.
This not only ended up in a large donation but the awareness of who we are and what we do has spread and that is worth more than the money.
Thank you McDougall Insurance & Financial for continually supporting local and giving us a chance to participate in the Community Contest.
Congratulations to the winners of our McDougall Community Contest:
In 1st place is Wilberforce Loop Troupe winning $5,000 for new acoustics and sound system!
In 2nd place is Quinte West Lost Paws winning $3,000 for equipment and training for volunteers!
In 3rd place is Terry Fox Public School winning $2,000 for a new play structure!
Thank you to everyone who participated and voted, we had over 135 entries this year!
DID THAT ACTUALLY HAPPEN ???????
❤️❤️❤️BEAU IS FOUND AND SAFE❤️❤️❤️
1. Beau, from PEC, went missing by the Waring House when she bolted and yanked the leash out of her owners hand. We connected with the owner and a few days passed and there were no sightings.
2. A dog was seen being dumped in Napanee on the same morning that Beau went missing. Colleagues in Kingston went to check it out and set a feeding station to help get the dog to safety. The dog came to the feeding station. Something seemed too familiar about this dog. My colleagues and I were discussing the similarities but that couldn’t really have happened. We don’t believe in coincidences.
I asked Beau’s owner for more pictures so we could compare. IT WAS BEAU!!! The black mark on her face was a dead giveaway.
She was seen by a homeowner being dumped out of a car. The homeowner posted about that dog. Beau had to have been caught right away and taken to Napanee and dumped with her collar, halti and leash taken off. WHO DOES THAT????
Beau’s owners came to the area but Beau was nowhere to be found. They said they would camp out but we knew that she was coming to the feeding station and to the trap at that point so let the process finish.
A trap watch was set but she didn’t show up. Hmmmmm??? We did another night of conditioning but the cameras malfunctioned so we don’t know if she showed up or not. The decision was made to set a trap watch and hope she showed up. Her routine was late at night so the watches weren’t going to start until 8:30pm but the missus decided to show up at 5:15 pm. Luckily for us she was scared away by a vehicle so she didn’t get the food in the trap.
She wasn’t too late in coming back to the trap, checking it out and heading for the jackpot !! Gotcha. The watchers weren’t far off so got there quick.
It took almost 3 hrs of patience by the 4 watchers as they stayed calm to keep Beau calm and decompressing.
The owners were quickly on their way. When Beau heard the vehicle she got excited. Then Mom showed up, then Dad came too. Oh what a moment for Beau. She was super excited to have her people back.
Thank you to Marilyn for reporting and posting about the dumped dog, my colleagues for initiating the process, keeping the dog in the area and our Kingston team joined in for trap watches. Thank you as well to the farmers that kept Marilyn apprised of Beau’s whereabouts.
Beau is safe in the arms of her owners!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
WOW!!! THAT WEEK WENT FAST !!!!!
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO VOTED AND SHARED. ONLY ONE MORE VOTE !!!
LET’S GET US OVER THE FINISH LINE WITH A BANG FOLKS !!!!!!
AFTER THIS I WILL LEAVE YOUR FEEDS ALONE!!
(Well, maybe not, we still have lost dogs so us disappearing from your feed is unlikely. )

Our Story
We are a group of individuals who love animals and who have witnessed first-hand the impact that a lost pet can have on their owners and the frustration and confusion faced by these families while trying to find their lost pet.
Our group came together as we feel there is need to provide training to prevent lost pets and to offer assistance in recovering them. We believe this is a vital service that deserves to be provided in a professional and ethical manner and NEVER at a cost to the owners. We are all volunteers who provide our time and efforts purely out of love for our furry friends.
We have had incredible experiences together, safely securing lost pets and reuniting them with their families and we are dedicated to continue doing so in our community for years and years to come.
