Sounds familiar?⁣

Whether it's a song, a thought, an image or a habit.⁣

When you TRY to let something go, it almost seems like it gets stuck with you forever.⁣

So - drop the TRY.⁣
Do something else. Focus your attention elsewhere and allow everything else that is not "that" to expand.⁣

Sleep is the foundation of well-being.⁣
What can be the foundation for a good night's sleep? A calmer mind.⁣

A calm mind can promote good sleep.⁣
A calm mind can help you fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, fall back asleep faster (if you wake up in the middle of the night), and a good night's sleep will make every aspect of your day better.⁣

Do you agree?

Kaizen is a compound of two Japanese words that together translate as "good change" or "improvement."⁣

In the '50s, Toyota implemented Kaizen, and the small incremental improvements led to faster delivery, lower costs, and greater customer satisfaction.⁣

In businesses where Kaizen is implemented, it is associated with achieving sustained continual improvement in targeted activities and processes of an organization.⁣

Kaizen encourages you to make incremental changes and continuous improvement.⁣

Kaizen encourages you to be creative, curious and seek wisdom.⁣

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~⁣

We, humans, are constantly changing.⁣
We are going, learning, testing and adapting.⁣

The idea of perfection is far from achieved in reality.⁣
We often want to accomplish perfection, though perfection does not exist.⁣

Instead, thrive to constantly change and improve small things in an area that matters to you to achieve sustained continuous improvement in life.

You can see tips to end insomnia everywhere.⁣
You get excited and give them a try just to be disappointed again.⁣
To end insomnia, you need to apply a host of tools, adjust some of your habits/patterns and create a shift in your mindset.⁣

Sleep is a process. ⁣
Sleep is not something that magically happens. ⁣
Sleep is not an on/off switch.⁣
To improve your sleep and enjoy the many benefits of sleep, you need to, first, keep in mind that it is a process.⁣
A tip or two won't really make a huge difference.⁣
A holistic view is required.⁣
Consider your routines, behaviours and habits.⁣
Consider what you can change, so your sleep is improved. ⁣
Start with the smallest change that requires the least amount of effort, which gives you the most significant results.⁣

Look at what keeps you awake at night.⁣
Is it stress? Anxiety? Fear? Remorse? Guilt? Pain? Past trauma?⁣
Attend to it rather than sweeping it under your mental carpet.⁣
If you leave that issue unattended, then no matter what else you do, you still won't enjoy a good night's sleep for too long.⁣

Your mind and body work together. ⁣
A mind-body connection exists whether you pay attention to it or not. ⁣
It either works for you or against you. ⁣
Make sure your mind-body connection works for you. ⁣
Learn how to create a healthy mental and emotional balance.⁣
Your nervous system will thank you, and you'll be able to fall asleep faster and sleep through the night.⁣

Our culture teaches us that it's ok to sleep less, and pulling an all-nighter is a badge of honour.⁣
This is absolutely wrong!⁣
Be kind to yourself and sleep well every night. ⁣
Your physical, mental and emotional health will improve. ⁣
You will be focused and creative, feel refreshed and energized, and be the best version of yourself!

A slightly lower body temperature helps us fall and stay asleep. ⁣

Our body temperature drops slightly towards bedtime and rises again in the morning. ⁣

Hot days make it harder to fall asleep.⁣

Although it might sound counterintuitive, a warm shower an hour before bedtime will help lower your body temperature and help you fall asleep.⁣

This message reminded me of my own journey.
Anxiety and panic attacks were part of my day, every day.
When I was trapped in the spiraling thoughts and motion, I didn't realize there was a different way of living.
But there is. It is possible and it's beautiful.

Do you know the feeling when lying in bed and can't fall asleep?⁣

Last night, I got in bed. The lights were off, and the house was quiet.⁣

Then it started.⁣

The oh, so familiar thoughts spiral. ⁣
It starts with some small thoughts like ⁣
"is the door locked?"⁣
"Did I answer that email?"⁣
"Will I remember to do call X tomorrow?"⁣

Then those thoughts turn into a negative and often scary stream of thoughts that run in loops - ⁣
Anything from relationship issues through finance, through questioning myself in every aspect of life to climate crises and the state of humanity.⁣

Sleep is the symptom, at least 99% of the time.⁣

Now, if you want to improve your sleep, then look for the real cause and your sleep will improve.⁣

We often think of sleep almost as a "punishment." Once you understand the benefits you gain while asleep, you can transform your thought from "a punishment" into the "reward" you get at the end of the day.⁣
The reward that transforms your life!⁣
And what a precious gift it is to receive each night!⁣

💤 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 ⁣
Bedrooms tend to turn into anything but their purpose (sleep and sex).⁣
Many people have a messy bedroom; their work desk is in there, they have a TV in their bedroom, end so on.⁣
Make sure to create a calming environment you are 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 to be in.⁣
Paint it in colours you like, add some plants, hang beautiful curtains, and use lovely linens.⁣

💤 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬⁣
A good mattress can make a huge difference.⁣
Dedicate time to test several mattresses.⁣
Notice how they support your body. ⁣
Try different pillows and test them with the mattress you like.⁣
Some pillows work better with a specific level of mattress' firmness.⁣
There are pillows suitable for different sleeping positions.⁣

💤 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞⁣
Our brain is very associative. You can train your brain to anticipate sleep and start to wind down based on your schedule by following a sleep schedule.⁣
Following a regular schedule - weekdays and weekends - will prevent "social jetlag.⁣

💤 𝐁𝐞𝐝𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞⁣
Bed night routine has 2 important purposes:⁣
1. Create a trigger for your brain to start slowing down and getting ready for sleep.⁣
2. Incorporate activities that promote better sleep - like listening to relaxing music, reading, taking a warm shower, breathing exercises, meditation and self-hypnosis.⁣

It is challenging to sleep well (or sleep at all) when you suffer from 𝐚𝐧𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧. ⁣⁣

Do you, too, feel that your brain switches on when it's time to sleep?⁣

The lights are off, the house is quiet, everyone else is asleep - and it seems that a switch flipped in your brain, and thoughts are flowing in.⁣

-----⁣

There are ways to deal with an overactive mind and help you quiet your mind at night.⁣

-----⁣

Breathing exercises, meditation, yoga, visualization and hypnosis are all very helpful.⁣

"Brain Dump" (see my past post about it) and a gratitude journal can help too.⁣

-----⁣

When we work together, you will receive powerful hypnotic tools and a "how-to" approach to quiet your inner chatter and train your mind to drift nicely to sleep.

Keep a regular sleep schedule.⁣

Go to bed at around the same time every day - weekdays and weekends.⁣
Wake up at the same time - weekdays and weekends.⁣

Simple yet very effective.⁣

Our brain looks for patterns.⁣
It is safer and easy for our brain to thrive in a predictable environment and schedule.⁣

By keeping a regular sleep schedule, we prime our brain to prepare for sleep at a specific time and wake up at a particular time.⁣

A regular schedule also helps us avoid "social jetlag."⁣

𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬?⁣

If inadequate sleep is the symptom, what else can be the real issue?⁣

Most of my clients come in due to sleep issues.⁣
I can help them build up their sleep muscle and sleep better, but a "magical" thing happens when we discover the real issue.⁣
When you treat the issue itself, you can create a fundamental transformation.⁣

If your sleep is a challenge and you have ruled out ⁣
➡️ stress/anxiety/worries⁣
➡️ pain and health issues⁣

Consider looking into:⁣

❗ Your chronotype and whether your sleep matches your chronotype.⁣
❗ Hormonal imbalance⁣
❗ Light exposure⁣
❗ Irregular sleep schedule⁣
❗ Your diet⁣
❗ Your liquid intake⁣
❗ Physical activity (or the lack of it)⁣
❗ Habits that might impact your sleep⁣

You asked...How do I find the root cause?⁣

Two days ago, I posted that sleep is often the symptom of a challenge or struggle you have in life.⁣

I wrote that your sleep would improve once you figure out the root cause and treat it.⁣

𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞⁣

Sometimes, the root cause is known, such as trauma, an argument, a health condition, etc.⁣

Sometimes, we just know the approximate time when our sleep worsens. ⁣

I use different modalities, like Hypnosis, to go back in time and understand where the issue stemmed from.⁣

Once we understand where it started, we can neutralize the emotions around it and retrain our mind and body to sleep (and live) better.⁣

Have you heard about the effect blue light has on your sleep?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
New studies have discovered that light's negative effect on our sleep is not only about the light wave's length.⁣⁣
It is about the intensity of the light.⁣⁣

Life challenges often create sleep issues.⁣

Challenges like⁣
👎 Poor health⁣
👎 Chronic pain⁣
👎 Anxiety/worries/stress⁣
👎 General dissatisfaction ⁣
👎 Struggles related to work⁣
👎 Struggles related to relationships⁣
👎 Struggles related to the financial situation⁣

--> often translate into sleep challenges.⁣

When I work with a client, in addition to improving their sleep, we always take a deep dive into their life situation.⁣

Once we identify the root cause and attend to it, their sleep improves drastically. ⁣

Send me a DM if you want to explore more and improve your sleep. ⁣

My most successful clients are those who come in with curiosity, a desire to learn and an open mind.⁣

When starting something new, one can take a cautious approach and be skeptical about the subject at hand.⁣
One can overanalyze and resist new experiences.⁣
One maybe thinks, what if it doesn't work?⁣
What if I fail? ⁣

One seeks to change their state because they are not happy about their current state.⁣

My suggestion - start a process when you are willing to commit to it fully.⁣
When you are curious and ready to learn.⁣
When you are ready to dedicate your time to it.⁣

When you do that, is when your transformation will be most significate.⁣

My client had a wart on her big toe. ⁣
She visited her doctor every 2-3 weeks for more than three years to burn the wart, but the wart kept getting bigger.⁣

Through a mental process, we did the wart started to dissipate.⁣
After a month and a half, there was no reminder of the wart. The toe was smooth and healthy.⁣

She went to her doctor to show her smooth toe. The doctor was amazed.⁣
He said to her: I know that the mind is powerful, but I never saw how you could remove a wart with the power of the mind.⁣

Training your brain to support you in achieving your goals is priceless.⁣

When you approach it with an open mind and curiosity, you discover incredible powers.⁣

Here are some stories I hear a lot:⁣

I can't fall asleep.⁣
I can't sleep for more than 3 hours.⁣
I don't know how to sleep well.⁣
I never had a good night's sleep.⁣
Nothing helped me.⁣
Nothing is gonna help me.⁣
I tried everything.⁣

And then...⁣

We change the stories.⁣

𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘴𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘱 shifts to 𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘴𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘱 then to 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘴𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘱 and finally to 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘴𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘱.⁣

Every process contains many stories.⁣
Every story you tell yourself can support you or bring you down.⁣

𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 - 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬⁣

For months, or maybe even for years, you focus on your old limited stories.⁣

Because you focus on those stories, your subconscious is seeking pieces of evidence to show you that you are right.⁣

Your subconscious will find proof to support your story. ⁣
Your subconscious will keep you safe by validating your story.⁣

You think you wake up every night?⁣
Your subconscious will make it happen and validates it for you.⁣

You think you can't fall asleep?⁣
Your subconscious for the rescue! It will occupy your mind with racing thoughts and worries so you stay awake.⁣

Then again, it brings the challenge to your mind, which focuses on the challenge and creates suffering.⁣

What can you do?⁣

❣️ Look for the good intention (see my last post).⁣
✒️ Write a new story that includes your desired outcome.⁣
🗣️ Tell your story and repeat it every time your mind shifts to the challenge.⁣
🧭 Get your subconscious on board.⁣
📈 Remember, it is a process! A process - long or short - but it is still a process.

20/04/2022

Besides many roles your subconscious is carrying, there is one crucial role your subconscious has.⁣
𝐈𝐭 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞!⁣

Your subconscious good intention is always to keep you safe.⁣

Your subconscious has no timeline. ⁣
It knows no past or future. ⁣
Your subconscious only understands the present moment.⁣

Our habits, patterns, behaviours and beliefs all start with good intentions.⁣

If we look at the habit of smoking, it also started with a good intention.⁣
Smoking usually begins in the teenage years.⁣

Teenager who starts smoking knows that smoking is not good and healthy for them, but they start because they want to feel a sense of connection, maturity, or control - and all that gives them a sense of safety.⁣

Then they grow up still smoking until they decide they want to quit this habit one day.⁣
Their subconscious, which keeps them safe and knows only the present (no past or future), makes them believe that if they quit smoking, they won't be in control, they won't have a sense of connection anymore. Meaning they are not safe!⁣
So, it proves to them how hard it is to quit the habit of smoking.⁣

Because the subconscious is way more powerful than the conscious mind and willpower, you can only change your habit when you get your subconscious on board.⁣

You will be successful when your subconscious believes that the new habit, pattern or behaviour keeps you safe.⁣

When you want to change and improve your sleep, eat healthier, eliminate a negative habit or manage physical pain - always start with what is the good intention the current situation brings with it.⁣

𝐇𝐲𝐩𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞!

We stuck telling ourselves the same old defeated stories.⁣
Stories that reflect our challenges and failures. ⁣
Stories that keep us stuck and make us feel bad.⁣

Often it is hard even to start imagining who we can become without the stories we are so used to telling ourselves.⁣

Those stories are almost invisible. ⁣
The ones that you don't even notice how they play in your head.⁣
Those we repeat over and over, and we believe them. We became to be those stories.⁣
