Glorious London and Milan!

Bruce and I recently returned from a couple weeks away in Europe.

We started in London for a few days and enjoyed a wonderful Afternoon Tea before our evening performance of Hamilton.

In Milan, we stayed in a quaint apartment in the centre of the city within walking distance of everything. I experienced my first Michelin star restaurant, had a tour of the fabulous fashion district and explored the beautiful town of Como. I am now addicted to Aperol Spritzes!

On a recent trip to Marrakech with my family, I had the pleasure of riding a camel. They are gentle animals but caused me some stress when mine decided to get up from the ground while I was seated on it. Below is a picture of my sister riding in front of me and then one of me, dressed in desert garb. A truly wonderful trip!

What's in Your Closet?

Last month I had the pleasure of speaking at the beautiful Resorts World Hotel in Las Vegas. My audience consisted of a wonderful group of sales professionals. My topic was ‘Opening Doors with your Image’, where I spoke about the levels of acceptable professional dress in the working world today.

I wore a red pantsuit to ensure, based on research, that my message would be remembered longer than wearing another colour. I included the physiological and psychological impact that certain colours have in the business world, and how we can strategically use them to our benefit.

Oui Oui Paris!

After 5 days in London, I just spent 3 wonderful days in Paris!
I was the only woman not wearing a beret, so I broke down and bought one. Here I am in front of the Eiffel Tower - one of the most wondrous structures in the world!

The highlight of my Paris trip was the Yves Saint Laurent exhibition. I left there with my heart beating rapidly, still excited and motivated to dress more creatively.

Thank you, Yves, for giving us women the tuxedo suits and dresses, pantsuits and beautiful, bright colours, inspired by his visits to Marrakesh.

This past week I had the honor of attending an outstanding four day virtual conference of the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI Global), of which I am a member.

Throughout the event the common themes that emerged were racism, sustainability and supporting the LGBTQ+ Community.

I felt privileged to learn and grow from image consultants from various countries such as Brazil, Mexico, India, China, Canada, the U.S. and so many more. We completed four days of webinars with a virtual gala, where we expressed ourselves through our favorite vintage attire.

We can always continue to learn from one another. The support and knowledge we share creates a powerful impact that generates a new perspective.

The colours are making a comeback as we Spring into a NEW season!

I personally fell in love with the beauty of the silk patterned blouse when I watched ‘The One’ on Netflix. The main female character is frequently seen in colourful pant suits sporting a blouse which makes the whole look not only gorgeous but interesting.

Let's Talk Mask Etiquette!

Today I am here to share professional insight into mask etiquette. In addition to the to the tips shared below, here are some additional considerations and secrets to success for mask wearing:

Carry a Covid kit in your car in a zip lock bag that contains a spare mask, hand wipes, hand sanitizer and gloves.

Don’t forget to wash your masks and have different colours that match your outfits.
