Currants may be tiny, but they pack a big nutritional punch. Like other berries, they are excellent sources of fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants, especially the flavonoid anthocyanin. While they've long been used in traditional medicine, researchers are now finding scientific evidence for the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial powers of currants.
You can purchase Ravenwood black currant concentrate and jam in Vancouver through Farm-to-Plate Marketplace
🎉 We had a blast hosting our first community event last Tuesday! Thank you to everyone who came out to support local food producers and food accessibility. 🌾🍅🥕
Our pay-what-you-can virtual farmers market program is powered by our community members. During the event, we introduced our new volunteer credit system and had a great time sharing ideas to guide our program.
We are looking for more people to become community hosts and create more food drop-offs for you and your neighbours. Together, we are creating a more equitable and sustainable food system. 🌱
If you missed this event, no worries! We'll be hosting our next community event at the start of July. Maybe we can have a BBQ. Hope to see everyone then!
Thank you again for your support in making a positive impact on our local community. ❤️
