The origins of London Fog
While it may not sound like a local drink, its origins can be traced back to Kitsilano, and not that long ago.
In 1997 a skeptical barista made Maria Loria an Early Grey tea, but with skim milk, not water. Loria, who was pregnant at the time, was looking to find something to replace coffee, and the idea made sense to her, though not to everyone else.
“I think she was skeptical of it; I vaguely remember her being like ‘are you sure?’” Loria says. “It worked, cause I continued to order them.”
They’re now found in coffee shops around the world.

Sicilian Pistachio - This variety of pistachio grows only in two places in the world – Iran and Sicily – and from appearance to texture, it is like no other. Bright green and buttery it pairs well with citrus, rose and honey.

Sicilian Pistachios are vibrant green and full pistachio flavour, shelled and blanched for convenience.
Has a delicious buttery flavour and can be enjoyed on their own or used in both sweet and savoury preparations.

They make a delicious addition to ice creams, candies, chocolate and cakes and are traditionally used in Baklava.

The Arabs introduced to Sicily the pistachio of Bronte
in the 9th-11th centuries,
here this kind of tree (Pistacia Vera) has found
an ideal habitat on the northwestern slopes of Mount Etna,
in the area around the small town of Bronte.
Here,
in particularly the extraordinary combination of the soil
and the climate means that the pistachio nuts produced
in Sicily are unique,
in fact,
much in demand from top pastries-chefs all-over the world.
No other pistachio is such a bright green colour as the
locals call it “emerald green“,
or has such a strong rich,
resinous perfume,
as precious as it is rare.
