We want to note that certain issues like spacing, costume rule enforcement, the line, and stage+PA issues were actually planned for but the venue did not follow our instructions prior to the event. (we had specifically requested extra space in front of the stage but tables were instead placed along the stage etc). We also only had less than half of our initial volunteers showed up, which took away from what we had planned for line organization, costume jury, and crowd control. Rest assured these issues shouldn’t have happened in the first place and they certainly won’t going forward. We also plan to book both halls at the venue for round 2 so we can have more activities and features for attendees, as well as have presentations and the costume contest away from vendor tables.

we have quite a few items that were left behind on saturday including, some gloves, cosplay props, purchases from vendors, and a bag. if you are missing anything like this please send us a dm! we will ask you to describe the item and arrange to get it back to you safely! we have luckily already been able to return some things back to their rightful owners!💖 thank you to those that turned these items in!

we wanted to express our most sincere gratitude to everyone who came out to our first ever kawaiicon✨✨ the event so far exceeded our expectations and we cannot wait for what’s next!!

we were also able to raise over $2k for the National Centre of Truth and Reconciliation in honour of that same day. 🧡
