2021 was a big year for all of us at Kaija. Business growth, personal growth, additions to our families and many other changes in our lives. Through all of this we are thankful to be together and in service to our wonderful clients. This beautiful soul has always been the same at work and at play and we respect her deeply for it. Lauren is often my inspiration and the "driver" who keeps me on task. This came up as an excellent client question and can be misunderstood and misused. But that’s why you have Kaija!!

An Estimate is an educated guess - a starting point. It can go up or down as information is gathered.

Where as a Quote is a legally binding value that may only be changed when formally agreed to by all parties involved. A quote is most often issued as part of a written proposal.

First up🥰 Krista is so much more than our Project Coordinator! Krista has a huge heart and is one of the hardest working individuals I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. I have an incredible amount respect for her work ethic, insights and perspective. 'Never judge a book by it's cover' is certainly true with this one. We are lucky to have her on our team as she also runs her own cleaning business. While Krista embodies all of our Values, the one that stands at the top for her is Integrity. Krista, thanks for being a part of Kaija - we are so lucky to have you aboard.

At Kaija we recognize that Thanksgiving is a topic of great tension for many, and righfully so. Traditions of thanksgiving include surviving the winter and receiving bountiful crops through the growing seasons. It is also a reminder of the colonial injustices imposed on the indigenous people of this country for hundreds of years. Indigenous people were celebrating expressions of thanksgiving long before the settlers arrived. The settlers knew times of thanksgiving before they set foot on Indigenous lands. This Thanksgiving: may we not repeat the mistakes of our past; may we honour and respect all people; may we all find, at least one thing, that we are thankful for this year. We hope you had a great weekend 🧡

Not only today, but everyday, Kaija encourages you to raise awareness of the tragic legacy of residential schools on this day of Truth and Reconciliation to honor the thousands of survivors. SAFETY👏🏻PREP👏🏻ALWAYS. We promote safety to our clients and contractors so it’s only fair we practice that ourselves. One of our own Kaija crew took the weekend to explore the Kootenays from a couple new lenses. Fishing on the Upper Arrow lakes and scrambling up Ymir mountain. Know the scope of work and plan your safety around the elements that put you or others in danger. It’s all of our responsibilities to return home at the end of each day🙏🏻
