Affirm United would like to express our continued support for transgender and gender-diverse youth. Youth across the country must be supported to live as their authentic selves.

These newly introduced policies in provincial jurisdictions are not based on evidence and will cause irreparable harm to trans and gender diverse youth. To base proposed policies in misinformation and discrimination is irresponsible.

AUSE stands firm in support of 2SLGBTQ+ youth, and against any form of discrimination or intimidation that puts the lives of 2SLGBTQ+ youth at risk.

To the trans youth witnessing this hatred, know that we see you and honour you, just as you are. Even if your government tells you otherwise, you deserve to live a life of authenticity and joy. We see you and we love you.

Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people!

Today, we give thanks for all that has been given to us by God, by our friends, and by our families. Wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving!

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we wear orange to remember the generations of indigenous children who were taken from their homes by the Federal government to attend church-run residential schools in a concerted effort to destroy indigenous culture.

We gather to worship upon the ancestral, traditional and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish and people. We are committed to the ongoing work of reconciliation with the indigenous people of Canada.

Christ loves all! Such a great turnout - the pro-LGBT contingent just kept growing, even after our photo ❤️

We are aspiring to find an energetic leader who will continue and broaden our second century of spiritual service to the community by enhancing our vision of being a safe, welcoming place for all people to worship and work together, inclusive of race, creed, age, cultural background, gender, and sexual orientation.

The coordinating minister will lead the spiritual life of our congregation as a community builder who works in a collaborative and collegial manner with part-time staff, lay leaders, the council and the congregation. Our community is unique in its significant intercultural component and technological outreach. We hope that our leader will see possibilities in each of us, inspiring and encouraging us to grow spiritually and to experience and nurture the caring and compassion that exists in this community of faith.

Christmas schedule! Note that We will not offer a Christmas Day service. Instead, we will have a gathering around the Christmas tree for carol singing, reflection, gift exchange (under $10) and lunch together after the gathering. Please let the office know by Tuesday, December 20th if you are coming.

Today we voted to join Affirm United/S'affirmer Ensemble as an Affirming Ministry! Thank you to our Community of Faith for taking this step to spread God's love. Watch this space for more Affirming action in the future. A happy Advent 2 indeed!
