Our Rec Leadership 2nd Years are half way through their internship experience! A requirement for internship is to complete an overnight facilities maintenance shift to gain an appreciation and understanding for all that's required to maintain a Recreation facility. Samson Lee recently completed his shift, and here's what he had to say about his experience: I completed my maintenance shift at the Minoru Center of Action Living. I am working with an Auto-Scrubber machine. The main event is scrubbing the Pool Change Rooms and Shower. I have the utmost respect for all the overnight and daytime building service workers (BSW). They work at odd and unconventional hours to keep the facility clean and Covid-Safe for all staff and patrons to recreate. The maintenance shifts definitely provide a grounded experience to the internship. Thank you to the City of Richmond BSW team. #Recstudiesintern #recreationinternship #langaraintern #langarainternship #handsonlearning #langaraalumni #recstudiesalumni #langarian #recalumni #langara #langaracollege #langarastudents #langararecstudies #recstudies #recreationstudies #recreation #parksandrec #communityengagement #communitycentres #studentlife #aquatics #Bcswim #swimming #Bcaquatics #aquaticcenter
