Alternate Shelter Society
Alternate Shelter Society is a non-profit that emerged in March 1977 with the expressed goal of providing residential and support services to youth in need.
We were initially formed by a group of caregivers and other interested community members who felt new and flexible models were needed to better serve youth in need and their families. Our youth are those often described as high risk, at risk or even behaviourally disordered. Over the last 35 years we have run numerous programs for our youth based on their ever changing needs.
