As part of an Initiative through the newly developed ‘Climate Action & Innovation Committee’, the IDIBC Emerging Professionals from CIDA-accredited programs in BC will be hosting a series of Zoom Salon events. These will be student run discussions on various environmental issues. Participation and attendance will provide students with badges/ awards which they can use to market themselves as Green Champions to future employers.

Please join the IDIBC Emerging Professionals at the first event on January 25th. Kwantlen Polytechnic University interior design students will share their research on The Red List of “worst in class” chemicals to avoid when specifying building products.

SHINE Awards Gala postponed to November 5th, 2021

The IDIBC Awards Committee has been working very hard to navigate the many challenges of holding a safe event during a global pandemic. We are excited to see friends and colleagues, and to gather with the design community to celebrate the talents of professional interior designers in BC.

Considering the recent provincial health regulations and concern for our attendees, cast, and crew, we have decided to push back the date of the SHINE Awards Gala at the Vancouver Convention Centre from Tuesday September 28 to Friday November 5, 2021.

The committee continues to optimistically plan for an in-person Awards Gala, along with preparing a back-up plan of a virtual event. We are working with the Convention Centre on options for different gathering sizes as well as protocols and guidelines that will keep our event guests safe. Health regulations and restriction updates will be monitored closely by the Awards Committee leading up to our new event date.

We appreciate your understanding and support of IDIBC during these unprecedented times. All our fingers are crossed that we can get our IDI family together again in person this year. Information about online ticket sales will be released a few weeks prior to the event.

We hope to see you on November 5th!
