💚The heart chakra or Anahata chakra is the energetic center of compassion, connection, and love for yourself and others. This chakra is at the centre of your chakras, creating a connection between the physical and spiritual. It’s mantra is “I love” and it governs a lot of our emotions, especially feelings of trust and empathy. When blocked it can leave us feeling lonely, desperate, or disconnected from our feelings. To open the heart chakra, engage in things that bring you joy, dance move, or practice chest focused yoga poses or sound meditation. Scents that are connected to the heart chakra are jasmine, bergamot, or rose, and gemstones in greens such as peridot or tourmaline can help with activating the chakra. ❤️The Root Chakra: Mūlādhāra, is our grounding rooting centre. Located at the base of the spine, this is the energy centre of balance, and our most basic needs. It focuses on our instinctive feelings of strength, stability, and our survival. It is represented by a red lotus, and it’s mantra is “I Have”. When our basic needs of security and belonging are met we can focus on other growths- this is our foundation. When this chakra is unbalanced we can feel anxious, fearful, and affected by other people’s energies. Many people use yoga, sound, scents, and meditation to help get the chakras back into alignments. When our chakras are aligned it’s a sign that we are in balance and giving appropriate focus to different aspects of our life, but we can often feel off kilter or disoriented when there are problems. Through sound, yoga, reiki, meditation, journaling and introspection we can start to build awareness of how to use our chakras as a tool for healing and growth. ☀️Some yummy warm incense inspired by all this beautiful sunshine! If you like woodsy earthy smells we would suggest trying scents like sandalwood, palo santo,

📖 What books are you digging into this week? 📚 It’s a cozy day to get all curled up with a book: our little book worm fairy seems to have the right idea. Brew a cup of tea and settle into a fantasy world. What are you reading right now? ✨So you just got your first tarot... Now what? ✨
Whether you are just starting in tarot or snagged a new deck for your collection, there are many ways to get comfortable and connected with your tarot. There’s no right or wrong, so try out what works for you but here are some suggestions:
CLEANSING:
-Using incense, candles or your preferred method cleanse your cards: even just sitting with the box and taking deep breaths for a few minutes.
-You can leave your cards near an altar or with a few crystals in their box or bag to energize them.
-Whenever they feel heavy or sticky with energy you can leave them in a bowl of salt or on a windowsill under moonlight. Just remember to take some extra time with them after to re-energize them.
CONNECTING:
-Many readers lay out all the cards in the order they arrive to see the story or flow of the entire deck. This is a great way to better see the similar symbology and energies of the different suits, and the artist’s vision. -Make note of what stands out to you and the patterns you notice. What cards are you most drawn to?
CARE:
-Many people use either a box or a tarot bag to store their cards when not in use. Pick something that speaks to you.
-You may want to keep a tarot journal to record your readings, thoughts about the deck, and more. This really helps with learning the system of tarot and there are many books and online sources that offer exercises to understand the meanings.
