Did you know that FDT has a Debate program that allows B.C. students in grades 8-12 to receive high school elective credits? Students learning debate as part of our Course Credit Program are eligible to receive 4 credits towards their B.C. graduation requirements! The program is offered to both new and existing debate students. To participate, students must be enrolled in an accredited B.C. high school.

The program will run from September 2024 to May 2025 at our W Broadway location in Vancouver.

Registration is still open for FDT‘s Summer Debate Program! ! We are accepting students into group and private lessons on a rolling basis, until July 25th. This program is open to students in grades K-12, with all levels of experience. To signup, visit https://bit.ly/fdtsummer24

Making it onto the Canadian National Debate Team is the highest honour of debate in our country. FDT is extremely proud to announce that our following students have been selected to join the 2024/2025 team:

These students will join returning members Jin Zhou and Jinjou Wang, already on the team.

Congratulations to our debaters who competed in this year’s Junior and Senior Debate Nationals! 🎉 special shout out to Evangeline Lin for being named the top junior speaker and Emily Zhao for being named the second over senior speaker!

The 2024 World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships took place in Canberra, Australia, and we are so proud of our students who competed! A massive congratulations to Michelle, Enya, Jaiden and Raine for placing in the top 20! 🎉
